So long as neither party forces each other to conform to their system, sure.
I'm sure it has happened in at least one college dorm, armchair philosphies and philosophers are a dime a dozen. Besides anything a radical left winger says is probably inherently insane, ignores reality, and can't really exist anyway.
I have voluntarily shared my room with an-socialist for many occasions for the last 5 years. And this in a statist society. You probably have more in common then you think.
Freedom has always been the only route to progress.
