There have been many articles regarding how the US will follow the path of the Soviet Collapse.

I would like to know what were the stages and signs of them. How long did they take? How did they manage to get their footing again?

I don't know anything about the United States "collapsing"; I'd like to read some of those articles you've been looking at.  There is a major difference between the economy of the United States and that of the Soviet Union, and that is that the United States is still a market economy — highly interventionist, but still a market economy.
