I know this topic has been done to death, but I just found this great article. Ron Paul may run soon. I know many folks here are anti-voting in general. I too oppose democracy and voting in general (as an anarchist), however, I would vote for Ron Paul.

this quote from Block explains my position perfectly "Yes, there are very few people I would trust with such awesome responsibilities. Ron Paul is one of them."

Izzy, you really think so? To my understanding, many of the things Ron Paul stands for are indeed admirable, but he is still human. The very foundation of American governance is specific designed to prevent one single person from wielding such authority. If the Congress and the Courts want nothing to do with him, what does it matter if he's elected President or not? If he wants to advance his agenda, he will ultimately have to "sell-out" sooner or later unless there's a massive popular push in his favor. I'm worried that he might get mired by the very system that was supposed to protect our liberties in the first place!

Oh, and to stay relevant to this thread - I agree, also. I think that you have to sometimes play the game to get ahead, even if it's wretched and unpleasant.

"I am certain that nothing has done so much to destroy the juridical safeguards of individual freedom as the striving after this mirage of social justice." F.A. Hayek

i dont think he will sell out... he has a pretty clean 30+ years voting record... I used to live in victoria, tx, and he does whatever he says he is going to do... Plus he is still undecided about running... if he was really in it for power, he would have been bragging about running in the 2012 election a long time ago...
