Hmm... even accounting for the disproportionate US presence on the Web, seems an overwhelming amount of traffic comes from there. Could be a language barrier thing, but Canada and the UK aren't contributing much either.

Ah yeah I considered that, but it still didn't seem that clear until rereading it now.  In that case, I would think he may have a point about language barrier (then again, there are plenty of automatic translator options), so it may have also something to do with countries having their own Institutes and websites...

I don't know about accuracy of the data. If it uses some embeded tracking javascript code then my firefox addons (ghostery, abine, adblock) probably filter it out... Question is, how many people out there do the same ;)
