I was wondering something.   In the 1920s, were there 2 factions, opposite one another in the Republican party with one being based upon Abe Lincoln's Authoritarianism, with members being Grant (Authoritarian to a lesser extent) and Roosevelt 26 (to a greater extent) and the other a classical liberal party, members being Coolidge and Harding?

Also, if there was a faction as I've described above, then was the Abe Lincoln faction in the Congressional majority when Coolidge was president and prevented him from ending the Federal Reserve?
