Sorry if this has been answered before. But can anyone recommend a good introduction to politics (not necessarily from an austrian perspective)? I have a friend that is interested but I can't remember how I started learning, besides a random assortment of articles. Heck, if there isn't anything good, I can write it myself.
Anatomy of the State
Politcs? Not political theory, but like getting elected?
Yes, basic politics but also some theory, maybe posted this in the wrong section. Not really interested in getting elected though but preferably from a United States perspective. She had said that she was interested, but she's really turned off by all the bull shit. I'm was thinking basic information, like descriptions of different viewpoints of democratcs, republicans, libertarians, etc. Then building into more advanced topics leading towards libertarian and austrian economics would be ideal.
Maybe have her read Are you Liberal? Conservative? Or Confused?
It's the one that got me started. :p
Politics: A Very Short Introduction
Any AP prep book should be fine:

That's looks great, I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the other suggestions as well.
For a visual medium, see here:
Obviously these are not comprehensive introductions, because this guy didn't really make videos in that way, for that purpose. He just kind of made them on various topics as they came up, and these are just a compilation of those videos, organized in the most "introductory" way possible.
Also,
This isn't government-focused per se, but he gets into a few general federal government topics...quite deeply, actually.
