This 2004 memoir is new to me. Richard Yancey, the author, was interviewed on C-SPAN. At one point, he analogized the IRS to organized crime, but noted the difference was that the IRS was lawful. If you don’t have time for the interview, read his 2004 op-ed The Department Of Internal Resentment.
