lol or why not just invite them to take a look at mises.org and the articles here? Just show people the way instead of throwing things in their face. They'll come to their own conclusions and this way some people will change their minds. Taking a group to go down there and argue they'll naturally feel a need to resist because they feel like their very lives and who they are is being threatened to the core.  Just be a messenger- don't try to lord over them.

This is what happens.

So.. no, it'd be a waste of time.

Ron Paul is for self-government when compared to the Constitution. He's an anarcho-capitalist. Proof.

I read through most of the thread. You basically got banned for not fitting into their worldview.

To paraphrase Marc Faber: We're all doomed, but that doesn't mean that we can't make money in the process.

Dear God, that was horrific. Those people didn't even want to argue with you based on any kind of reason. They just made assertions and said you're full of shit. :(

They just kept telling you to GTFO. I guess some people just want to sit around circle-jerking their egos.

Its lame how people try to pin you. You're not democrat, so you're republican? You're not republican so you support ron paul? Its just trying to pidgeonhole you, to put a stereotype over you so they can apply all these pre conceived notions to you.

When people ask me if  I support ron paul, I say "no. Ron Paul supports me"

I hate it when that happens.

LOL.

I don't understand why anyone takes democracy seriously anymore.

everytime i read some shit about workers owning factories or what not i just want to post them this:

Guild socialism is the concrete-bound, routine-bound mentality of a savage, elevated into a social theory. Just as a tribe of savages seizes a piece of jungle territory and claims it as a monopoly by reason of the fact of being there—so guild socialism grants a monopoly, not on a jungle forest or waterhole, but on a factory or a university—not by reason of a man’s ability, achievement, or even “public service,” but by reason of the fact that he is there.

Some people's beliefs simply can't be changed. You're up against a religion, not ones with any sort of rationality. I picked this up from commondreams.org board:

"The US is a predatory Capitalist warfare state. The US is Communism for the rich, Capitalism for the poor..."

I like the fact that the website asks for donations to help their "cause".

"Excuse me?"

Trolling isn't always a pejorative, enciting rage/strong emotional responses due to cognitive dissonance or getting owned in debate is quite comical for the rest of us (note the LOL responses on this very thread), I mean a place like DemocraticUnderground isn't exactly a hotbed of intellectual discourse, so seeing the logic posed by it's members in response to your posts is rather entertaining.

I was just noting I am appreciative of your talent in doing so.

This reminds me of the new thread I just made, Marx or Keynes. What's less rational and arrogant, revolution left or democratic underground?

Freedom has always been the only route to progress.

Some of revleft bothers to actually look into theory, even if they are horribly wrong/misguided.

I don't believe anyone on DU has ever read anything relating to economics or philosophy.
