I've made a few PowerPoints in the past on libertarian topics just for fun. I've shared them with friends, but now I have found that I can easily share them with everyone by converting them to Google Documents. This one is on why terrorists hate us. Feel free to share the link:

Or in case you don't trust me:

https://docs.google.com/present/edit?id=0AYJw_pCCSWIPZGNraDRqczRfMGRxajl6NDdq&hl=en

I'm open to suggestions for improving it. I've also got a War of Northern Aggression I'll put up sometime. Has anyone else done the same for other topics that they would care to share? I love this kind of thing. I think that PowerPoints are a much more powerful way to educate newbs than articles. Just seeing a picture of the person being quoted adds power to it. When you see one after another it seems like an orchestra of agreement.

When my little sister presented this PowerPoint to her high-school class, a computer glitch stopped the presentation for a moment and one girl said, "I was just getting into it!" My sister said she looked up and saw some of the students jaws were dropped open. That made my day!

I've seen it. Nice work.

One way it could be improved is by adding a map of the world with countries where US military bases are present highlighted. For example different shades of color could be used to represent increasing military personnel numbers.

As an example of tyrants supported by the US (and their allies) you could add something about Egypt, which I think is the second recipient of US foreign aids immediately after Israel. Egypt is a perfect case study: oppressive regime, large Islamic movements growing increasingly restless, willingly ignored by Western media etc.

Together we go unsung... together we go down with our people

Nice work.  I suggest using bold to highlight the most important parts of the longer quotes, or even trimming them down, so that your message is clearer.

I agree with you that powerpoints can be better than articles for newbies.  Here are a couple of presentations on economics that I made in the summer:

Economics in One Lesson: Wars, Governments, Price Controls and the Boom-Bust Cycle

Austrian Business Cycle Theory: How Government Manipulation of Interest Rates Causes Booms, Busts, Recessions and Depressions

Of course, a map! Just like Ron Paul's "high tide" commercial. And I'll study up on Egypt.

And I looked at your slides trulib. I liked how the cartoon characters and the comics made it fun. I'll look for some comics to add myself, while trimming some slides down.

Thank you!

I've made the changes and posted them at Slideshare, which looks a lot nicer because it doesn't distort the text size and placement like GoogleDocs converter does. If you like it, please vote it up! I might get a MacBook.

Really good, my friend. I've thoroughly enjoyed the parts I've read, but I'll finish reading after I go eat some In-N-Out Burger real fast, haha. I'm doing my senior thesis on libertarian/anarcho-capitalist ideas, and this organization is really good.

That's hysterical about your little sister presenting this. Mind if I ask how old? I wish someone would have presented this stuff in high school, but I probably would have been confused before that.

EDIT: So are we completely out of Saudi Arabia then, like Paul Wolfowitz said?

Glad you enjoyed it. My sister is 18. She shared it with her senior class earlier this year. I added the Ground Zero slide and Further References since then.

Good question about Saudi Arabia. (My family actually lived there for two years. My Dad was an accountant for a US company that sold them missile guidance systems. When we went to a party put on by a Saudi Prince, he actually asked my Dad if he would be willing to sell him my Mom so that he could have her as another wife! My Dad said she isn't for sale, though he jokes that he regrets that decision)

I looked it up and found this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_withdrawal_from_Saudi_Arabia

Roughly 4,500 US troops were redeployed from Saudi Arabia to Qatar, leaving about 500 in Saudi Arabia, primarily with the 320th Air Expeditionary Wing and 64th Air Expeditionary Group at Eskan Village (a compound about 20 km southeast of Riyadh).

Okay, cool! That's a really good time to show people a PowerPoint like yours because they'll be more likely to research stuff on their own now that they've heard a different side. I didn't really get into politics until my freshman year of college. I wish someone had showed me this stuff instead of having to randomly stumble upon all of these sites due to Ron Paul's campaign.

Hahaha, that's so funny. I can't even imagine if someone living in the United States were to ask a man to buy his wife. Gotta love cultural differences. Thanks for the Wikipedia, too! I'm writing about the Saudi arms deals this week, so I've been gathering information regarding the whole U.S.-Saudi-Iran 3-way relationship going on, and I couldn't find any page about the withdrawal, so I appreciate it!
