Usually post-hardcore/ melodic metalcore. Lately downtempo has been my thing. This is what I'm listening to now:

I've been really into this band recently:

They're sort of progressive metal, I suppose.

Love me some MC5. Been listening to a lot of Ornette Coleman (free jazz), Hank Williams (country), Junior Kimbrough (blues) and John Zorn (free jazz/experimental). My avatar is of Jeffrey Lee Pierce, the leadman of the Gun Club, a country/blues/punk band.

I've always been into country, though since I've stopped being a party-line Republican I've had to strike a few particularly jingoistic songs from my playlist.

Country. Either I listen to my local station or I listen to WZZK Birmingham online.

Ornette Coleman is brilliant!

Jazz, anything with synths but not too heavy (techno is cheesy and bleh), indie, folk, grunge (definitely not post-grunge), classic country, and good metal.

Definitely! I couldn't decide whether to put a song from They're Only Chasing Safety, but I just went with the newer one. What do you think of Ø?

Lately (and as always): Agalloch, Nature & Organisation, Sol Invictus, Boyd Rice, Forseti, Blood Axis, and Death in June.  Other than that 80's hardcore and post-punk.

Progressive rock. Yes is the pinnacle of music to me.

I've always imagined that if punk is the music most related to collectivist anarchism, then progressive music should be related to individualist anarchism.

Lately, I've been all about dubstep and dnb. But in general, I listen to pretty much anything that can be qualified as rock or blues, with a little bit of hip hop on the side.

Music is a language. You can say whatever you want with it, even make a political statement. We pass on our message in many languages, why not music?

I'm a bit older, and like to listen to classic rock, oldies, motown, eighties rock and pop, eighties hard rock/metal, grunge, and even some classic country.  My musical appreciation growth stopped somewhere around 1997 or so.

I don't understand why blues or electronic music wouldn't qualify as individualist then.

I've always been a rocker, especially a punk rocker. I just feel so much freedom when I listen to punk rock, left or right. Fucking hell, I might not be a libertarian today if it were'nt for punk rock.

I would say I would not be libertarian if not for Hip Hop, John Stossel, Punk Rock, Malcolm X  and Henry Thoreau. Hip hop and punk can sometimes have anti government messages, though I do think they have some sense of individualism. Just look at the lyrics.

I write professionally (part time) for a metal website, and I've been involved with that music for a while, so I'm immersed into that scene. I also listen to some hardcore, power pop, punk, and progressive.

Rush is one of my favorite band...and their lyricist/drummer has strong libertarian leanings that tend to pop up in their songs.
