GoodSearch.com will send a percentage of their ad revenue to the Mises Institute every time you use their search engine. You don’t have to click on ads. You don’t have to pay anything. Just select the Mises Institute and search. You can even track the amount that has been raised. They calculate that 10,000 supporters, averaging just two searches a day, will raise $73,000 in a year’s time. A toolbar is available for IE, Firefox, and Mac. So search in good faith that it all is going to the defense of the market economy, private property, sound money, and peaceful international relations. What do you have to lose? The sky is the limit and your searches have already resulted in greater access to new material and more scholarships for young academics so spread the word! Not to mention that you can also use GoodShop.com and up to 30% percent of your purchase goes right back into funding Mises Institute events and publications that will place human choice at the center of economic theory while opposing government intervention as economically and socially destructive.

So, is there a way for the Mises Institute to show people how much money they've received from this? I'd like to know that it's actually working. It seems legit though so far.
Did you go to the website? It's there.
Neat, Count me in.
Before I will use a web search engine, it must first earn my trust. I turned off the SafeSearch Filter, saved the settings, and purposely searched for offensive (politically incorrect) words. I clicked "Images", and I clicked "Video". GoodSearch filtered out the results. I compared the results with other web search engines, including the one GoodSearch claims it is using (Yahoo), and they worked fine. There are many web search engines to choose from. GoodSearch will not be one of my choices.
Well yeehaa for you.

Figured it was about time for a bump. Goodsearch has done an overhaul of the site, and now you can create an account and keep track of exactly how much you've personally raised.
Again, you don't have to make it your exclusive search engine. Just put it in your search bar and use it whenever your search isn't really important or is just random...like when you're looking up the time, or spellchecking a word, or you're looking for something any search engine could find. Obviously if I'm looking for something specific and I don't find it with Goodsearch, I just switch the searchbar over to google....
Can I just search a thousand random search terms in a couple minutes to generate LvMI money?
I don't think it would be worth it. For one thing, that's a lot of searching, and it would only generate $10. And more importantly, as the site says, any attempt to do something like that could result in having the organization banned from the site. Obviously that's not an easy thing to police, but it's up to their discretion. The reward isn't worth the risk.
Just registered. Raised $0.03 :)
bumpin it

If you're using the omnibar, obviously you have to change the default.
For chrome users, this is what goes in the last slot where you add search engines: http://www.goodsearch.com/search-web?utf8=✓&keywords=%s
