To paraphrase Marc Faber: We're all doomed, but that doesn't mean that we can't make money in the process. Rabbi Lapin: "Let's make bricks!" Stephan Kinsella: "Say you and I both want to make a German chocolate cake."
Not holding a seat in Congress really makes DC a hell hole. One of the few honest politicians. Yet, upsides I see in not being bound to being a public servant would be going around and giving speeches and campaigning for people to essentially live free. Maybe he'll combine all his skills into a traveling medical practice going around the country curing people of their Statist ills.
He could come out from his closet and declare anarcho-capitalism to be better than Constitution.
I think it means we are gonna see him even more on TV. He'll sign a contract with Fox News and be a correspondant like Palin...
Let's just try and make sure that he gets in the White House. Or convince Rand and him to run together as independents. Rand could go for pres to avoid the legal ramifications of Ron already being a republican candidate.
Rand would be waaay more popular than Bachmann and every one would know it.
Eating Propaganda
What do you mean i don't care how your day was?!
Palin is a correspondent? Sheesh. Is that supposed to be good?
Ron is a little old and less naive to sign with Fox. There is zero chance he is getting in the white house. And I think he knows that.
And Rand is just terrible. I would disown him if I were Ron Paul. And adopt a non-neocon son.
CNN has been much more welcome to inviting him on their shows than Fox has. Paul usually can get on Fox Business with ease, but the main shows (Greta, Hannity, O'Reilly) don't want anything to do with him in primetime.
It would be interesting to see him "come out of the closet" and all the Ron Paul "actually he's the only conservative in Congress!" types would go bananas and become delirious. "But anarchy means no laws, that's why we have a Constitution!" I can see it now!
If Paul did say he was an anarchist, two things would happen. First, his following would feel backstabbed. I'm sure he could convince a number of his legion to become anti-statists, but the majority of people who revere the Constitution would disown Ron Paul. Second, I think he would become even more marginalized than he is currently. Nobody is going to let an avowed anarchist talk about topics on their show. Ron Paul is seen by the majority as somewhat loony, but only a total loon would think there should be no state. That would most likely cut off his access to the media. The only anarchist that is somewhat relevant in the public eye today is Noam Chomsky, and even his influence is limited to far-left types who hate corporate-run media anyway.
More time to join Jeffrey Tucker for burbon for breakfast!
I think if he came into the White House, it'd be comparable to Dave Ramsey fixing the budget. President Paul would treat the U.S. economy like a sick patient by removing the disease and letting the body heal itself, not using band-aids like the Obama and the rest.

He becomes president instead.
Just trying to be optimistic.
"And Rand is just terrible. I would disown him if I were Ron Paul. And adopt a non-neocon son. "
That's a bit far.
Who is going to succeed Paul on the GOP ticket in his own district? That could be an interesting question. Is the district which sent him to DC for so many years suddenly going to turn around and vote for a socialist or a neo-con just because Ron Paul is retired?
He could move to NH with other liberty-minded people. We'd love having him here in the "live free or die" state.
The district lines are being re-drawn.
Lol, of course, how silly of me.
