Hehe, not sure if anyone has come up with this before, but:

In the GOP race there are currently two "Rick"s. Yet I mix them up, cuz when I look at them all I see is santorum.

Edit: maybe slightly poor taste?

That is quite incredible. Thank you.

I am beginning to think more and more that the FED is indeed the root of many issues in today's politics (I say more and more because I am ignorant on economic matters and hope to read some nice Austrian Economics books in the upcoming months).

Funny picture I found (relating to the weak Eastern US 8/23 Earthquake):

Haha. I mean to ask whether the Chinese currency will jump in price in the future and is hence a good investment at the moment.

Now you're asking if it's going to rain in the future and hence, is carrying an umbrella is a good idea.

Two recent libertarian hit pieces.  Make of them what you will:

@Porco: Naw, liberalism has never been popular with the gossip-class (Elites) which is responsible for most of the trash you read in the news.

Here's a version of Peter Schiff testifying before Congresss with more of the other guys so you get a better idea of what's going on.  (And the full hearing is linked in the description of those)

I was just reminded of leftie protesters who have a problem with sweat shops. The standard argument against that is of course that these workers are poor and the sweat shop offers them a better opportunity. But wait a minute. Why are these countries poor in the first place? The funny thing is that people who have to work in sweat shops are only that poor because they live in ex-communist countries. If these countries had attempted capitalism instead of socialism they would not have sweat shops any more, no capitalist country does. So it's funny that sweat shops are seen as a symbol for how bad capitalism can be when there's not enough socialism.

Then the standard counter is that regulations are what protect us from sweatshops.

Yeah, funny how these regulations only work in super capitalist countries. Shouldn't they have a much easier time implementing such conditions in socialist countries, where the government is on their side, than in those meanie capitalist countries that are run by laissez-faire big business interests?

What we learned from 5 million books (TED talk)

Google Ngram viewer really impressed me by its ability to visualise the spread of ideas.

For instance, compare the frequency of mentions of "Mises" with  "Kenes" or "Hayek".

Also, everybody says that among the greatest scholars of the Austiran school Hayek was more popular in the mainstream than Mises. Now one can see how true it is.

Finally, take a look at this  astounding graph. It shows that LvMI does great its job.

Anton: Wow, nice find!

If you shorten your search to just "Austrian school" it turns up an interesting spike in the 1930's.... and also at the end of the 1980's (I have no idea why):

I find this to be an astounding graph... I would love to hear Paul Krugman hmm and haw about it:

Hans Hoppe might find this one interesting:

Lew Rockwell might like this:

This idiot is back:

(Notice how he's toned down the "I'm so cool and hip (and therefore you should listen to me) because I speak in ebonics and move my hands like a rapper while I try to interject attitude into my idiotic projections and character attacks."  Now he wears a sweater, and actually offers a nicely-toned hello and welcome.  Yes tiny bald black man whom I've never heard of.  I shall take you more seriously now. )

I actually did it, but then thought that there might be matches with no relation to economics, so I decided to specify the search. As you might have noticed, this search engine is very sensitive; one capital letter can greatly affect the results.

1. interviewer not hostile.

2. no other guests to interrupt with their asinine opinions.

3. enough time for Pete to elaborate

Article by Malcolm Gladwell

Up until the 1960s, the gap between rich and poor in the United States was relatively narrow. In fact, in that era marginal tax rates in the highest income bracket were in excess of 90 percent. For every dollar you made above $250,000, you gave the government 90 cents.

He goes on to say that [oddly enough] nobody complained. And yet today the rich have become whiny babies, unwilling to pay much less than 90%.

Peter Schiff has refuted this many times, pointing out that there were plenty of loopholes and deuctions then, and no one actually paid 90%. or anything close to it. [Which explains why nobody complained].

Today there is no way to escape the govt's insistence on its cut.
