I was at this restaurant/karaoke place and the waiter asked to see everyone's government-issued ID. A lady in our party said that her ID was at home, but that she had her ID from the public university she attended. The waiter replied that the ID was not acceptable because he needed to see a government-issued ID. So, I turned to him and said "[the public university] is the government." He blushed and I quickly said that I was jesting. However, when I said it, I meant it seriously; but I didn't want to get us kicked out of the place. But it's true! That school ID is a government-issued ID.

That's ridiculous.  A student ID is a far better indicator that someone can handle a lot of booze than a driver's license.

I haven't been to it in months.

I don't think literally anyone has.  And that probably includes developers.

I don't know what is going on over there. I've been out of the loop for months.

I drop in now and then. A lot of philosophy, something about proving God exists.
