So this small town is deciding it's more efficient to shut down the public schools and send all the kids to private schools.

This is horrible news.  It is just the voucher system at large.  Will property taxes be cut corresponding to capital relieved from public schooling?

His goal is to cut taxes in half for Seabrook residents.

That's what I'm hearing. Property tax pays for state education in NH. Property taxes there are some of the highest in the country.

It never ceases to amaze me how consistently I am opposed to anything posted by Freedom4Me. It would seem that someone with a common interest in liberty would occasionally accidentally post something I agreed with.

What's wrong with a voucher system?

Most voucher systems fail because they are state-run. I'd support a voucher system run by voluntary charities or employers.

The same things that are wrong with US higher education. State-subsidized, state-regulated schools are only marginally better than state-subsidized, state-regulated, state-managed schools.
