An incredibly great interview. Perfect for making average ignorants think about possibilities and realize how small their intellectual box is...
Excellent:
Don't show that video to freedom4me lol.

He's making fun of you. Stop crowding threads with crap no one cares to see. Go live in the woods.
JJ, that was my reply in that thread! I tried posting it on here as well, but no one ever got around to approving my response, which was full of links (and hence flagged as possible spam).
Someone on Reddit mentioned taxes as the "price of society". Goatluva responded:
There is no "price of society". Society isn't some building in which one voluntarily lives in and pays rent in. It is not a service to be purchased. It is an abstract term used to describe the entirety of all interpersonal relationships within a given geographical area.
Sehr gut.
Wheylous:Sehr gut.
I totally just watched this recently.

How do you know no one cares to see anything I post?
They say so.
Why should I leave? It's way more in my self-interest to stay here.

Not according to you. Follow me.
Ah but JJ, is it not then less preferential to F4M to retain a coherent philosophy than it is to claim to reject 'tech' and post on Mises.org?

who is this guy? WONDERFUL VIDEO.
(english is not my native language, sorry for grammar.)
@Maiku: Some Googling turns up that this is a fellow named "Rod Taylor" (I found no other info) who Aaron Russo identifies as a friend of his... this segment is at the close of Russo's documentary Mad As Hell.
By the way, I think the libertarian movement could greatly benefit from an understanding that Taylor's message in this clip is not simply metaphorical, it is literally the case. The war against humanity being waged by the Elites is best understood as a spiritual war - and I mean that in the Book of Revelations sense. Because that's how the Elites themselves think about themselves and their enslavement of us. They've always said they have a divine right to rule us and own us. Do you think they stopped believing that and acting that out just because some 19th century authors wrote some popular books satirizing it?
I was raised a Calvinist, so I'm familiar with the history of the Protestant Reformation. Look at the reaction of the Powers That Be to the Protestant Reformation - all Inquisitions granted clemency to the repentant first-time offender - including even the hated Jews, Gypsies and Muslims. But it was the Protestants who most raised the ire of Rome - first-time offenders in Spain were punished - with death by burning - without clemency. You could confess to the priest before being burned and that might land you up in Purgatory instead of Hell but no matter what, you were going to be burned.
Why? How can a technical, theological argument over the doctrine of Justification by Faith and Works (Catholics) versus Justification by Faith Alone (Protestants) be worth burning people at the stake? The modern answer is that "people were fanatics back then" but that doesn't hold up to scrutiny. The Popes - like all rulers - were megalomaniacs, to be sure, but they weren't fanatics. They bent the rules, rewrote long-standing theology and overthrew established dogma whenever it suited their purpose.
The Protestants believe that it's because "Protestantism is the truth and Roman Catholicism was threatened by the truth" but this also doesn't hold up to scrutiny - the Protestants were just as threatened by further breakaway movements - such as the Anabaptists - and resorted to the very same violent measures to suppress them.
The reality is that Rome was threatened by what motivated the Protestant Reformation. Theological disagreements were a dime-a-dozen and usually represented nothing more than some political wrangling between rival cardinals. Martin Luther began his personal journey to writing the 95 Theses only after traveling to Rome and witnessing the debauchery and opulence of the city and even the Roman clerics themselves. Before his trip to Rome, you could not have found a more staunch defender of Roman Catholic theology than in Martin Luther. But his faith in the Church began to crumble when he realized that what was supposed to be the city wherein resided the Holy Mother Church was actually a year-round carnival and tourist-trap; what were supposed to be the most holy and spiritual men were actually philandering drunkards - untouchable by virtue of their crimson robes.
It is an awakening to the moral hypocrisy, spiritual debauchery and mental slavery which TPTB fear more than anything else. Political reforms can be massaged and revolts and rebellions can be managed. But outright awakening to the utter bullshit coming out of our rulers in Washington, DC, London and, yes, the Vatican is what really terrifies them. People saying things to themselves like, "Wait a minute, who died and made them God? Since when do a bunch of assholes in an office 3,000 miles away have a legitimate claim to even one penny of my income? And who gave them the right to print themselves up batches of money and kick down my door any time they feel like?" When people start wondering those kinds of things, that's when TPTB get nervous. That's when they roll out the torture chambers and summary executions.

I love this for multiple reasons, but it's useful as an entertaining refutation to the common leftist refrain "capitalism amounts to the survival of the fittest". As Tom Woods points out, capitalism and free markets are essentially the only things that allow the survival of the unfittest.
Case in point:
Now, one may make the argument that she's attractive, so there'd always be some guy willing to take care of her, but I have two counters to this point. (1) No amount of sugar daddies is going to prevent you from taking a nap in your car with the engine running and the garage door closed when you're by yourself and the A/C in your house goes out. Technology will. And (2) these people exist by the millions. And they aren't all pretty.
Really could have gone without that.
I don't think she's pretty, she's got caveman-cheekbone. :-X
Jargon:Really could have gone without that.
Think I should include a disclaimer like you did?
Clayton:I don't think she's pretty, she's got caveman-cheekbone. :-X
I guess you wouldn't be one to make that argument, then, would ya? :)

? If you want ? I'm not blaming you for the video.
Yet my diet/lifestyle plans keep being laughed at on this forum.
If he wasn't such a statist, and didn't so blindly believe the Republican Party actually stands for all the stuff he talks about, he might actually have something here:
(of course if he wanted to make an actual "guide to Republicans", that would have to be a completely different video. Here's a start.)
What I love is the comment: "The points made in this video made the Republicans sound more like Libertarians than Republicans"...which of course would be poison to the ears of these PJTV statists.
