I think her answer to the question starting at 4:59 is very perceptive and quite well stated.

You know the funny thing about the "Democratic party" is that it's not...

As Lew Rockwell said: Insurgencies Are Not Allowed by the Democrats either.

Related to that video/book on swing voters: The Presidential Election Game

He talks about how appealing to the "middle" or "independent voter" is so important in presidential elections because neither party has historically had a strong enough majority to win just on party line voting.

Man who had 30 kids with 11 women wants child-support break

"...Also in a TV interview, Hatchett tried to explain -- in a PG-rated way -- how he managed to end up with so many kids: "I had four kids in the same year. Twice."..."

LOL this cracked me up.

@z: Nice. This is the obvious consequence of welfare programs. I suspect the problem is more widespread than most people realize. Some men will eventually figure out that their potential girlfriends expect to live on public assistance no matter who they're with, so the woman figures she might as well sleep with the most handsome, alpha-male they can find - by trolling for such women, such a man can be very, very "fruitful".

Unfortunately, the 9/11 madness is still marching on. I hope that the residents of Fullerton can bring their police to heel but cops in the rest of the country will learn only one lesson from this: make sure it's not on tape.

Oh they're definitely trying.  ReasonTV has done a decent amount of coverage on this.

I don't think there's a whole lot they can do about it at this point, short of outlawing it.  I think it would take quite a lot before people would go along with that.

I just want to say to anyone reading this, not just people who post, that if you are ever given an order by a police officer to immediately comply with the order and say "yes sir" while doing it.

Don't risk provoking a cop.  It's not worth it and it won't be fun if it happens to you.  You never know if you're dealing with a trigger happy officer who's just looking for an excuse to beat someone up.

I'm not blaming Kelly Thomas for what happened to him.  It's not his fault those cops went nuts on him but he's dead anyways.

Bad advice.  Following this advice could easily put you in a worse situation than one that just "won't be fun".

This is how you interact with law enforcement.

That's a good link.

I highly recommend 10 Rules for Dealing with Cops parts 1,2,3 and 4.

Rule # 1  Always be calm and cool.  Don't fail the attitude test by talking back or disregarding orders.

I like it.

Reminds me of this. Coincidentally i was just discussing this topic on another forum.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/education/7788039.stm

"Local education authorities and grammar schools discourage parents from giving their children extra coaching."

They are so obsessed with removing any financial advantage that they would rather have children worse off as a result. It is rooted in a focus on social mobility and a class based mentality. The socialist way, so fair that everyone suffers.

The whole, if I can't have a great education then everyone must have a poor education instead.

Ex-Rutgers student gets 30 days in webcam case

If the ex-Rutgers student filmed his roommate sleeping, I doubt that would be a crime. So, only certain types of filming are a crime. Arbitrary nonsense. But the former roommate committed suicide? Don’t care. If I disagree with you or film you, and you are so emotionally devastated that you commit suicide, good. One less oversensitive wimp on the planet.
