Adam learns about Keynesianism at Occupy DC
These "protesters" are great. It's like between the three of them they almost have a brain.
At first it seems like it's gonna be the same case here...that they always use three people not because that's how many are needed to hold the sign, but to form a complete thought. But Dreadlocks ends up being pretty well-read.
Okay one more for Kokesh.
It hits a really high point in the response following the question at 8:40...and then drops off a cliff. I still haven't yet reached a point where I'm not astounded how someone could be as well-read and perceptive as this kid, and still end up holding such crazy ideas.
P.S.
A nice party favor: I actually didn't notice this because I was only listening to the audio and didn't view all of the visual aspect of the video, but I caught this in the comments:
Hahaha... Clown walks up at about 5:00, stands there for a minute trying to figure out what is going on..Adam asks a question and he realizes he doesn't have a clue what he just said, or what it means.. then just walks away.. lol
P.P.S
A great comment in light of Casey's understanding of the world. I wouldn't even call this reductio...it's pretty straight up.
I "NEED" to use your pussy for a minute, don't resist or you're a capitalist. Your body is a means of producing children and therefore belongs to everyone.
Everyone knows Hayek and that he's is associated with the Austrian school.* But if the guy really was well read, then he would have said Mises; and if he really really was well read, then he would have said Rothbard.
*Yes, I made a hyperbole.
To paraphrase Marc Faber: We're all doomed, but that doesn't mean that we can't make money in the process. Rabbi Lapin: "Let's make bricks!" Stephan Kinsella: "Say you and I both want to make a German chocolate cake."
Yes, perhaps some Mises/Rothbard is the dividing line that someone needs to actually know something about the Austrian School and stop holding the ridiculous ideas this kid puts forth.
But I'm glad you recognize the hyperbolic nature of your comment, although I'm not sure you appreciate just how extreme it actually is, as I've mentioned multiple times, including here and here, I know of university professors of economics...who have never even heard of Hayek. To suggest that "everyone" knows of Hayek and his association with "the Austrian School" is to suggest that he is a "household name", at the very least in academic or tangentially related circles. And I can assure you he's absolutely not.
I'm well aware you didn't literally mean "every single person on the planet", but I would still argue you're way off...to the point of basically being incorrect.
Here's another great illustration.
I know. I was jesting.

When mises says that money is an index of prices and not a measurement of prices what is he talking about? What's the difference between index and measurements?
*found it on my own - "However, because money prices themselves are determined by the underlying subjective valuations of the traders, they are constantly changing. The various combinations of goods that one motorcycle can “buy” today, may be different tomorrow, not only because the price (quoted in money) of the motorcycle can change, but also because the prices (quoted in money) of all others goods can change. That is why Mises and Menger prefer to say that money is an index (not a measurement) of prices, since it is less liable to confusion
@grant: Consider the difference between "X is greater than Y" and "How big is X? How big is Y? Which magnitude is bigger?"

Still a long way to go, but it's nice to see this discussion being had so often and in so many places, and the progress being made...
It'll be fun to watch the world evolve to the conclusions that Hoppe and Kinsella articulated years ago already.
When did Britain become a police state?
You may have seen the "granny off a cliff" ad. It looks as though ShaneDK put up the footage with his own text.
Federal courts in North Carolina have ordered the government to release prison inmates who federal prosecutors have agreed are "legally innocent" but said should remain locked up nonetheless. [...]
The investigation found the U.S. Justice Department had done little to identify the men, and that its lawyers had urged courts to keep them in prison even though they conceded that they had not committed a federal crime.
Justice said this week that it had ordered its lawyers to abandon that position. The investigation found that many of them don't even know they're innocent.

Love it! Mises speech -
Anyone know how to get this in an ePub or at least a PDF ?
Rothbard's physique is clearly not accurate, but cool picture nonetheless.
Bert, you freakin' rule. You do offer this stuff for sale, right? If not, you should.
Came from the Bastiat Institute FB page, they generally churn out some pretty cool pics (better than what's coming from the Mises FB page...)

Be sure to catch The War on Kids if you haven't yet.
Also check out the works of one of the featured interviewees, John Taylor Gatto.
I watched War Made Easy the night you posted it since it was relatively easy to find (rather, hard not to find with the OP of that thread). On The War on Kids, I gave up after a few minutes of not-finding a version online. Having found one just now, I shall stay up early watching it.

I like how the dc occupier is protesting against obama and government policies. If every time those protester said capitalist and replaced the word with corporatism, then i would be more inclined to join the movement. But they do have a right to be angry, theyre just angry for all the wrong reasons.
Moar videos of stupidity pl0x.!!!
Ill post it again for those who havent seen:
hmm what else, hmm hmm
at least the occupiers are smart enough to move from wall street to dc. Occupy the whitehouse!. They should all just simulatenously march to the white house and literally occupy it. If you have enough people, police cant do shit.
worth a few cents, electricity is quite expensive indeed.
