Gary North has been writing a lot about Obama's law license lately. Here are another two good points raised, one by him and the other by a lawyer who wrote to him.
I do not understand what is Gary's point. Is it that Obama practiced law without a licence?
To paraphrase Marc Faber: We're all doomed, but that doesn't mean that we can't make money in the process. Rabbi Lapin: "Let's make bricks!" Stephan Kinsella: "Say you and I both want to make a German chocolate cake."
His point is that he believes that Obama was going to be disbarred for some reason, and that in order to avoid disbarment, Obama voluntarily retired from the profession. North points out that it is almost virtually unheard of for a lawyer to voluntarily retire unless he is trying to avoid being disbarred. Even lawyers that have retired from practicing still keep their law license up to date.
This is according to Gary North and some other lawyers he has conversed with. I do not know if this is true, but in other articles he points out that Nixon and Clinton kept their licenses until being threatened with disbarment. Unless Gary North is mistaken, and he seems to present his case quite well over the last few articles he has written, then Obama was threatened with disbarment and voluntarily retired to save face. North can only point to circumstantial evidence, but I think he is convincing.
Hmm... I guess I would have understood his point if I had not read his articles in reverse order.

I think that is what he believes. IIRC, he thought that the reason Obama's names might not have matched up might have been due to trying to cheat with grades. He may have told the bar his name was Barry Soetoro.

By an 11-to-1 vote, the Federal Reserve on Thursday decided to launch a new program of open-ended bond purchases -- so-called QE3 -- saying it will buy $40 billion of agency mortgage-backed securities each month, starting Friday. It's also keeping in place so-called Operation Twist, which consists of swapping short-dated securities for longer-term securities, as well as reinvesting the proceeds of maturing securities, so the central bank will be adding $85 billion of long-term securities each month through the end of the year. The Fed also extended its pledge to keep interest rates exceptionally low -- Fed funds rates are currently targeted at a rate between 0% and 0.25% -- from late 2014 to "at least through mid-2015." The Fed said it's acting "to support a stronger economic recovery" and expects the new program to put downward pressure on longer-term interest rates, support mortgage markets and help make financial conditions more accommodative. Richmond Fed President Jeffrey Lacker, the only dissent, opposed both the asset purchases and the description of the time period will remain exceptionally low.
