Coming from the Bastiat Institute FB page, I could have put this in the low content thread, but figured we could expand on this.
Anything else that could be added?
How does the game work?
To paraphrase Marc Faber: We're all doomed, but that doesn't mean that we can't make money in the process. Rabbi Lapin: "Let's make bricks!" Stephan Kinsella: "Say you and I both want to make a German chocolate cake."
I assume if you're in a debate and one of these arguments is brought up, like the typical "why don't you go to Somalia if you want a stateless society," "what about wage slavery?," "corporations would run the free-market," etc etc.
Like if you debated someone about the Great Depression and they said the war helped the economy and that the free-market was the cause of the depression, you might as well start taking some shots.
You're just an apologist for evil materialism Got this line over the weekend.
I would hear the materialist argument from national socialist types or others who feel rampant materialism is the downfall of our culture and it's cause and origin is unfettered capitalism that must be stopped.
One I would hear a lot when I was younger is that libertarians would have supported slavery in the south because people (slaves) were property to the slave owners. Shit still doesn't make sense, and they'd say it in all seriousness.
The Bastiat Institute has obviously been infiltrated by someone who wants to kill off all libertarians, given that we'd be chugging so much alcohol.
alcohol is good for the liver. It makes the liver work very hard so obviously it gives ur body alot of exercise!
