I was wondering if anybody on here has any places they could share where one could debate others on issues, "others" being people like libertarian socialists, anarcho-communists, Maoists, Trotskyists, Leninists, Stalinists, Juche advocates, and who knows what else.

(Also, I doubt you could find many Juche websites on the web.)

Mainly what I'm asking is for anybody on here to share some good places to debate people like Progressives.

Just slam your head against the wall. It saves you time.

You are on the internet, debates do not happen here. Just screaming matches.

I suggest you learn more before debating first. I'm a big proponent of staged debates between people on these forums presenting a soft argument for state solutions and forum members tearing them down. Would you like to try one against me?

We need a theme and we start a new thread. I would probably start it. You can pick the theme. You want healthcare?

This:

National defense.

How in an ancap society can a free market defend against a raging governemnts army of millions?

If anything, even if you get all economic arguments correctly (including police), they will throw at you one thing the government does best, and that is: military.

What kind of people do you want to debate? Progressives are quite different to anarcho-commies.

I don't want such a "radical" debate. I want something more mainstream.

Progressives, I suppose. Not too keen on debating the far-right.

'Healthcare' is a good issue for that, then.

In the original spirit of the thread:

I thought that you might find this interesting:

http://mises.org/community/forums/p/30269/482744.aspx#482744

If you're looking for somewhere online to debate and you're thinking about suicide due to loss of faith in humanity then go to left-rev. If you're looking for a slightly slower death with a wider ideological spectrum go here:

http://www.politicalforum.com/forum.php?s=854ddf91ad651ab87a4c48331f289b69

There was a Marxist who used to frequent the forums by the name of "Daft Punk"... If he's still there then give him my regards. Anyway, marxists and radical socialists aren't exactly a large part of the forum but they made a pretty f***ing large vocal minority as far as I remember. You'll also meet some really smart libertarians. If the user "Absolute Voluntaryist" (I believe that is his name, he had a Spooner avatar) is still there and you see him in action then bow down and prepare to be in awe. He's one of the few libertarians who I have seen who is not only very smart but who is also genuinely good at debating, and doing so in an intellectual manner.

1. Did you see some of his posts?

2. That was worded very awkwardly. Just saying :P

And no, I tried finding some of his posts, but I couldn't find any. I just made those comments on the way you celebrated his knowledge of libertarianism. And personally, after looking at a Google Preview of Leftrev, I really don't think I want to go on there, haha. Too many loons in one location.

Yea I edit stuff I post right after I post it all the time and correct grammar crap.

Anyway, just for you I did some digging and I found his profile. I'm glad that he's been posting since I left the forum, disturbed that he hasn't posted in a month. I had the spelling of his name slightly off... And remember, I did this just. for. you.

And yea, as I indicated leftrev is probably a bad idea.

Why thank you very much. Although I must say it is a little intimidating when you say "just. for. you."

Just kidding.

I thought of the word one day, I thought it sounded cool. Neodoxy, a new school of thought, a similar process to the worldview which I have been forming over the past 3 years where I see my thought processes affected from all areas of thought from Mises to Nietzsche to Compte along with whatever I derive from these thinkers. A neodoxy is forming within me, and I find my views to always be neodox, if only because my views on matters are changing so constantly.

So I thought it was a cool username, and it has the unforeseen benefit that people occasionally put up pictures of Keanu Reeves while talking about me, and I'm down for that.

Hmm, interesting. Well I looked up the word "doxy" on the Google Dictionary. Based on what I found there, I had no idea what you were getting at.
