Some religious people say they couldn't be with atheists, and atheists say they couldn't be with religious people.
What about you?
umm yes.
That was an easy question.
Yea. I find that values rather than conclusions are much more important for something like this. I could never love someone with a set of inherent values which I find disgusting, for then that means to me that they are something which is wholly offensive and antithetical to that which I find beautiful, however if someone has similar values to myself, or merely a set of values which are not disgusting to me, then if the matter merely comes down to differing views of the world itself, which I can certainly live with.
So long story short, you could be romantically involved with a statist.
If they're open minded then they'll learn the truth.
I have struggled with this particular question.
Anyone who can't be romantically involved with a Statist might as well move into a monastery.
Some of the nicest people I've known have been Statists.
What can I say? I'm like Jerry and George when it comes to relationships.
Yes because if i had a girlfriend i would never tell her im an anarchist.
Somehow 15 year old girls hate it when you talk about politics, they tend to flee.
“Since people are concerned that ‘X’ will not be provided, ‘X’ will naturally be provided by those who are concerned by its absence.""The sweetest of minds can harbor the harshest of men.”

You're not just going to scare away girls when you call yourself an anarchist. Every time people hear the word, what automatically comes to mind? A hipster goth-emo kid with piercings in places we don't like to talk about who loves to smoke meth and listen to avant-garde noise.
one night stand maybe

I'm sure girls are scared of people like that.
...That's what I said.
I knew a girl in high school that said she'd "be down with anarchy". She was really cute too, I should have made a move.
I skipped over "just".
Im not myself today.
I have no idea what the required age is for people to get a girlfriend. Seriously, I saw people together back when I was in Jr High, I'm so confused!
And there is never going to be anybody around where I live who gives a flying fladoodle about libertarianism.
My first romantic encounter was in kindergarten.
Since then i havent ever kissed a girl.
Most of the 'relationships' in Jr. High are just shows for them to feel cool and/or to impress their friends. Actually, some of that happens in high school as well.
@ Kelvin Silva
Yeah, it seems like girls were a lot easier to be around back then, for some reason.
@ TronCat
I have no doubt. I'm just wondering about the age that society deems as the proper age for young people to start seeing each other. As I said before, I'm like Jerry and George when it comes to relationships.
"My first romantic encounter was in kindergarten.

My first girlfriend knew that I was an anarchist because when we first met I wouldn't shut up about it. It didn't turn her away, partly because she thought that I was very intelligent, partly because I made it very clear to her what I meant by anarchy whenever she asked, and partly because she was politically agnostic.
@Skeptic
What do you mean by "Jerry and George"? As for what age is acceptable, certainly any time after middle school is accepted. More importantly is how you feel on the matter, which, if you buy into the "normal" model of love as both an inevitability and an ultimate value then any age is an acceptable one to begin seeing someone else.
EDIT
Also, I was big f***ing pimpin' in kindergarten. I had 4 girlfriends and I think that I might have been married to one or to... I was a bad boy, so all the girls were attracted to that neodoxian stud ;)
... When Mises.org members begin talking about their love lives then things start getting sad reaall quick like.
Any kind of self-described socialist or statist activist, probably not. But most of the hot girls don't care about politics, so it's never been an issue with any of the girls I've been with.

@Neodoxy
Al gore also invented the internet right?
You know, there was this one time I shook Al Gore's hand at a party at Larry David's house, and I could have sworn I saw the guy throw his empty bottle of Jack Daniels out the window.
The only women to whom I've been attracted have been characteristically and philosphically individualistic. I don't know many statist individualists.
Short term I think I could put up with it, but not the long term. It would depend on a lot of other factors.
I was trying to get rid of the bottle before Al bitched at me for throwing it away instead of recycling it.
Why yes I could but then I'm a statist myself.
I think a better question for me would be: "could you ever be romantically involved with an anarcho capitalist?"
My current answer is yes because I don't think I really care but something tells me she would be more bothered by me than I by her.
EDIT: But then I've never encountered an anarcho-capitalist female so I'm just speculating here.
I'm coming to the opinion that we should avoid marrying an active statist, if the hope of the marriage is to raise anarcho-babies.
Does anyone know if Mises' or Rothbard's wives had strong political beliefs either way? I think it's safe to assume Rose Friedman was a libertarian.
That's what I'd want to do. Bring more liberty-minded people into this world. That would be unachievable if I had a wife who wears her favorite hammer-and-sickle T-shirt every day.
Just imagine what it would be like trying to go shopping.
PEOPLE NOT PROFITS ZOMGZOMGZOMG
Someone out to find a dating site called: libertarianromance.com
or libertarianfinder.com
or ancapmance.com
It would be so awesome if those places actually existed.
Except you would have 98% males.
Hmm. Does this mean that an ancap society would have to be polygamous in order to deal with the gender imbalance?
I don't know, but polygamy would certainly be acceptable in an ancap society.
And I know that there are more females than 2%. But you have to admit, it is a disproportionate situation.
Does this mean that an ancap society would have to be polygamous in order to deal with the gender imbalance?
Ancap society as in an ancap colony? No, I'm sure there would be a market for setting up foreign women with ancap men.
Seriously?
Oh and by the way, I think that being polygamous in an ancap society would, after a while, result in some...Deliverance-style results.
Um...why not? You don't think women would want to travel to a rich and free place to find a man?? Where pretty much all men have the ability to support themselves and others? The internet makes this even easier.
