What if the dastardly statist regions impose high tariffs or sanctions on our ancap colony? Where would the women come from then? Mars?

Michelangelo:

Does anyone know if Mises' or Rothbard's wives had strong political beliefs either way? I think it's safe to assume Rose Friedman was a libertarian.

I know LvM's wife, Margit von Mises, was a pretty amazing lady. If you have never read her Bio that was written by Murray Rothbard, here it is.. http://mises.org/content/mmisesbio.asp

First, restricting movement of peoples is not that easy.  Second, I never suggested that all or even most women would come in that way.  Obviously men would bring women in on settlement, and obviously they could reproduce and beget daughters.  I really don't see this as being a major issue for ancaps at all.  I mean, any ancap colony would be a prostitution haven anyway.

Do me a favor and make Brazil a priority through this travelling business of yours.

Sure thing.  We offer a wide range of matchmaking services.

Thank you for the link Heather. I freaked out for a moment when I read Magrit has a granddaughter, but then saw that she had been married before as well. It's a real pity that Mises had no son.

So, how is everyone's progress in raising their ancap babies? Any suggested fairytales?

Michelangelo:

You might not know this but Ludwig von Mises did have a younger brother named Richard von Mises. He was an applied mathematics professor and colleague of Albert Einstein at the University of Berlin. His wife was also a professor and after Richard died she began working at Harvard where she completed and edited all of his unfinished works. I don't think they had any children together and what a pity that is!

And to answer the OP's question...I think I would just as long as they aren't active statists who shout their false dogma from the rooftops even after knowing about libertarianism. Or if they are statists who have strong ambitions to be in political positions of power.

All ten of them :)

I've always wondered what Stefan Molyneux's wife is like.

I know that they're two Seinfeld characters, but what you do you mean by the phrase?

Everyone knows that ancap men are far more virile than statists and covered in an irresistible, alluring layer of fur.

Relevant to the discussion. Read the review section, start at the bottom... I've thought about getting this before just because of the rave reviews ;)

Anyone who can't be romantically involved with a Statist might as well move into a monastery. cheeky

I tried but the monks kicked me out after I broke into the cellar and got drunk on cerimonial wine. They didn't take my pleas about "sharing the wealth" very well...

@ Neodoxy

Jerry and George, if you remember, had to have EVERYTHING perfect in order to make a relationship work. The girlfriend could have no habits that they deemed as vices, even the smallest things. That's why when I say I'm like them, I'm saying that I don't think having a girlfriend/wife would be pleasent if she wore her favorite hammer-and-sickle T-shirt every day. She would have to be an anarcho-capitalist, have an interest in art, and preferably be from Brazil.

Yeah. This is sad.

Of course! That's not to say we wouldn't sometimes have arguments, lol.
