Ron Paul could get one or two electoral college votes.

"In Texas, elector Billie Zimmerman said she sees Paul as the only candidate able to save the country. She considers Romney and running mate Paul Ryan to be just another couple of Republicans who will disappoint her, and she called the GOP convention a "shocking display of deception and treachery and cheating...Zimmerman said she hasn't decided how she'll cast her electoral vote."

"Another elector, Kathleen Miller in Alaska, said she is planning to vote for Romney but left open the possibility of a Paul vote if the outcome of the election was certain and Republican leaders continued what she called 'shenanigans.'"

There are other Paul-supporting Republican electors in Nevada, but Romney lost there. I was asking myself if it would be better for these electors to vote Johnson, as he's likely running again in 2016, but what with all the Republican sobering-up this morning and realizing they need to embrace libertarianism, I think these electors voting Paul is the best strategy. Otherwise they'll just say, "Heck, you Libertarians get out of our Party!" (whereas Paul is a Republican). Plus, I think Paul deserves official recognition more than Johnson at this point, and we're all aware of Johnson's ideological flaws.

Anyway, I guess we'll find out in December if it happens.

Is that the Mankiw textbook or a different one? That's pretty funny.

Does anyone else just get extremely tense when they hear other people talking economics? Like, you feel an irresistible urge to either get far far away or yell at them until they shut up? I'm at the library listening to Econ students trying to put together an equation and I'm cringing.

2 men, 2 speeches, 1 message... the State:

http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_c2#/video/politics/2012/11/07/bts-election-speech-mash-up.cnn

To paraphrase Marc Faber: We're all doomed, but that doesn't mean that we can't make money in the process.
Rabbi Lapin: "Let's make bricks!"
Stephan Kinsella: "Say you and I both want to make a German chocolate cake."

@ Jargon

It's that way with me on not just economics. I can't stand to hear people talk about how the state is valid, like "Now that Obama has another four more year's he'll finally get these stupid Republicans to work with us Democrats! After all, the Republicans are the ones who are keeping this country from moving forward!"

Porn Producers Threaten To Leave LA County After Passage Of Measure B

LA County’s Health Department will be responsible for monitoring sexual activity in the same way they have to patrol restaurants and nail salons. Says Weinstein, “You will apply for a permit, you fill the paperwork. And then there are spot inspections. The same if you are a food handler, or a dog groomer or a barber. Someone is going to come around every once and a while and see if you are protecting people’s health.”

Actually, that photo is doctored. In the real photos, you can only see Kubrick's reflection. This is clearly a fake.

hah they gave them a page 11.  Which basically means nothing.  The reduction in pay sucks but i guarantee you that with good behavior for like 6 months they get that money back.  No way they can punish them.   seals have the upper hand because their talents are much more appreciated on the market.  If they punish seals then they will just get the hell out and not reenlist.  this is just for publicity and a show of authority to nonseals or for future seals.

only punishments you can give them are ones that they all accept. (murder, theft, spousal abuse *if it 100% for sure happened, DUI *subjectively, or anything that goes against seal creeds like banging your platoon sgt's wife *if you are the platoon commander its good to go then)

Eat the apple, fuck the Corps. I don't work for you no more!

Wow that was incredibly insightful. Even though I think that some of the things he says are "narrativized" themselves in that it implicitly made "critical theory" a marxist scheme, which it wouldn't appear to be as such, it's still really quite revealing about a lot of the stuff coming out of modern academia.

I think that it's important to note that someone can be very smart and very stupid at the same time. People are not just positive or negative when looked at in a specific type of lens

I've just been reading a lot about Lysander Spooner. Just found out that he was a member of the First International. I've always thought of him to libertarians as Karl Marx is to revolutionary socialists. I'm assuming that the only reason the only reason he was in the organization was because back then his unique take on anarchism was considered revolutionary left-wing. Am I correct?
