@Neodoxy
Yeah, the 2012 one was with the old man. I just found this which may help, "Her 1973 story becomes a manuscript that Jim Broadbent reads in 2012."
Couldn't help it:
Haha, Wheylous, that is awesome...I have no idea what relevance it has to anything but I love it.
It will be interesting to find out what the actual numbers are on both sides after all the information comes out:
BBC LIES ABOUT GAZA VICTIM
Careful Wheylous, I've seen those guys turn on you when you least expect it!
Posted a new article in the Mises Community board.
Check out some of the reasoning behind Warren G. Harding's support for protective tariffs. Gotta watch out for those...INTERNATIONAL SOCIALISTS who demand FREE TRADE!!!:
http://archive.org/stream/rededicatingamer00hardrich#page/180/mode/2up
"[The removal of all barriers of trade] is the tenant of the international faith. The Socialists demand it." Then he goes on to say that removing barriers will lower standards (obviously wrong, but this is pretty conventional thinking among protectionists), so maybe he fears the lower standards will create a desire among the people for an increased socialist state. I can't follow his logic at all otherwise. Silly Republican nationalists. XD
Where my Bourbon Democrats at?:

I never really got why Grover Cleveland was a Democrat.
Wikileaks Banking Blockade
@SkepticalMetal
Know who else was a Democrat? Old Hickory. Not saying he was on our side all the time, just sayin'. And Rothbard's favorite president, Martin van Buren, was also a Democrat. Van Buren was the first and only president not to speak English as his first language.
Welcome to the wonderful world of 19th Century Democrats!
I know. I just don't know why they would choose a party who's platform goes against the very nature of their own beliefs.

An article from febuary on trust and the welfare state:
http://sciencenordic.com/trust-creates-welfare-state-%E2%80%93-not-vice-versa
TL;DR:
The scandinavian welfare models are based on the trust that is inherent in those countries due to long historic stability and low corruption (or at least a perception of low corruption) and can't be implemented in countries where such trust doesn't exist.
And another on why free market health care is a bad idea:
http://sciencenordic.com/health-care-and-business-dont-mix
TL;DR Take away from this article: Free markets are bad for health care because sometimes you have to 'make choices' and that's difficult.

It may be possible to “vaccinate” soldiers against the trauma of war. By presenting soldiers with the horrors of war before they set off to fight, one doctor and his team hope to inure squaddies to anything they might witness on the field of battle
I would hope that by being presented with the horrors of war, the-would-be-soldiers would not go to war.

Okay, if you can get by the silly "ban Christmas presents" line that he's using to be controversial, there's a lot of good things in here (though most of us should be familiar with those good things).
@ Aristippus
A lot of Democrats have their ears fall off when I try to tell them about how their party was once known as "the white man's party."
Does anyone know where John James is? He hasn't been around for some time.
@Loppu: Yeah, his last post was end of September.

Stocks fell on Tuesday following a two-day rally, after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said the central bank lacks tools to cushion the economy from the impact of the "fiscal cliff."
I've got to say, the part starting around 3:40 of this video especially when Clinton starts laughing is chilling.
Very good video.
Loppu, John James has been "focusing on things" (his words). Hopefully he will be back sometime.
Maybe he got /has [insert girlfriend/job/hobby/life crisis] now that's taken him away from the internet.
Wheylous, thanks!
Apparently this happened 2 years ago, and it's only due to the Freedom of Information Act that it finally got released.
@Bert
Impossible.
JJ would never focus on such trivial matters, he has too many meta threads to create.
Neodoxy, could you please inform me of why your very first post was:
"a"
As I recall it was either because I was having a hard time posting in internet explorer or I'd just deleted my post on accident and then proceeded to accidentally post...
It was a coded message to his fellow Peace & Freedom Party members letting them know he had successfully infiltrated the message board. From that point on he has been a dormant cell, waiting for the code response (possible "b" or "z") telling him to rise up with his red brothers and sisters and wreck shit.
I could be wrong though.

Disregard my previous post, we'll go with what Groucho said.
