The statement the NRA makes is valid, however I'm skeptical about armed guards in schools. Do we really want the TSA body scanning our kids at the door and cops investigating "spitball incidents" and lurking around with radar guns catching kids running in the hallways.
I couldn't watch the whole recap. The bullshit was getting too deep. Calling that ad pornographic and all the bs about the sacrifice Obama and his kids are making. I think she was faking an orgasm right then.

The reason the news folks are upset is that the parts about the Obama kids having armed pretection while the rest of us do not is absolutely the truth and the part of about being elitist is also true.
The part that gets me is that I inferred that the writers of the add want the same protection as the Obama girls get. That is the crazy part. We do not need this stuff. The best solution is to rid ourselves of education in the Prussian Model.
And the most dangerous people to your children in public schools and private ones for that matter are of course the students themselves followed by the teachers. Just look at the NYC School District rubber rooms with ex-teachers sit all day at tax payer expense trying to get their pensions as they await hearings on all sorts of behaviors. The student on student violence I understand as a middle or highschool is an unnatural place to put pre-teens and teens where the behaviors get mucked up without adult supervision. The teachers I can never understand and these union agreements that allow these people to collect paychecks awaiting hearings is awful.

I, in turn, was disgusted by all of them faking disgust for full 10 mins without actually addresing the content of the ad. Is this how TV looks like today? (I don't watch any.)
It reminds me of when MSNBC played that clip of the guy who took an assault rifle to an Obama speech, saying it was based on "racism", and then the guy turned out to be black.
@Bill: Of course, the best answer is, as Lew Rockwell says on the 1/17 Alex Jones show to simply withdraw your children from the public schools, "secede from the government schools." But that's not what the NRA ad is about... it's just addressing the double-standard of the government forcing our kids to be in a "gun-free zone" while the children of government officials - including the President's children - receive education in a cocoon of security and guns.

@z: Yep, that's what TV has become... it's literally unwatchable... I only see 30-second clips when walking through the cafeteria at work and I am invariably appalled, horrified and driven to involuntary head-wagging within a matter of seconds.

nra wants to train teachers in guns, and have armed police in schools, but i bet they would vote against any bill that suggested the government paying to train teachers and have armed guards in public schools.

It's funny how they suggest the add is against armed protection to the presidential family, when it's actually for the right of everyone to seek armed protection.
What the elites are doing is their old stratagem of setting high entry fixed costs to any sort of service that effectively empowers individuals, so they can guarantee their monopoly/psony privileges.
It's the same thing with education and health care.
Of course, they conceal the whole thing by setting up low quality public services mass delivered to the otherwise disenfranchised populace, and telling they are doing it for them.
These corporate media tools must have been told to put this act on. That's the only way I can make any sense of their reaction.
