And he expects us to be smart enough to realize it and still vote for him along with stupid neocons.

What if Obama is also pretending the same thing?

What if Rand Paul is just another politician and he expects you to be dumb enough to not realize it and vote for him anyway?

Why not go back and instead of having to sacrifice pricipals in the halls of power, go back and be a doctor where you positively impact people every day.  And if you really want to help humanity then don't take anti-insurance or anti-Medicare/anti-Medicaid either.

Oh, he is well aware that he is losing support from lots of freedom oriented people but to make an omlet you have to break some eggs.

What does that mean in this context? What's the omelet?

I visit EPJ but I take Wenzel with a pinch of salt. He is far too tribalist for my liking.

He might be. There is a definite possibility. However, at this point, Ted Cruz hasn't been disappointing. Cruz voted against Kerry while Paul voted for Kerry. That disgusts me.

Sure, I've written plenty mentioning some of his shortcomings.

Here and here being two examples.  And of course you'll see more calling out if you read any of the commentary in posts of his that get on the subject of IP.  But in many areas he is quite good.  This Rand Paul saga is one of them.

Rand is phase two of the operation. Ron's role  was to educate as preparation for future electoral sucess, while Rand's role is to actually get that electoral success. I'd say it's working pretty well. Rand is making enormous progess in winning over mainstream conservatives, while pissing off only a relatively small fraction of his Paulite base.

What does that mean in this context? What's the omelet?

Eggs = the delicate sensibilities of a handful of Paulites

Omelet = a libertarian winning POTUS election 2016

Minarchist:
JJ, I had a feeling you'd say that.

Of course you did minarchist.  Could it be because you realize there is no chance of Rand Paul being either of those things?

No JJ, it's because I'm familiar with your views on Rand.

As we're all familiar with your views.  It's no surprise a minarchist would be on board with a neocon like Rand Paul.

Rand Paul is a neocon? That's news to me. A neocon isn't just someone who likes Israel and wants to be their ally.

No.  Neoconservatism is a systematic methodology of rulership.

Platonic Lie (Lie to the masses for social and poltical cohesion)

Virtue is to be instructed by the state onto individuals

Liberal Democracy Promotion abroad at all costs (preemptive war / war to spread democracy)

Propogate "nemesis" (Russia, China, al-qaeda, arabs, socialists, communists, etc. - everything except what they are)

power exercised liberally (Zionism is simply something that the founders and theorists of this particular school have had in common - religion is instructed in virtue for them)

regional hegemon (global is striven for)

???

What if Kim Jong Il was a secret anarcho-capitalist? Of course, he had to act like a cruel tyrant in order to win the trust of the North Korean elites. Perhaps he was just about to usher in a libertarian utopia when he suddenly died of a heart attack. This is about as likely as Rand Paul being a secret libertarian.
