Why not visit LibertyHQ forums? Just bookmark it now and next time these forums are down... give us a visit. We have all the great threads - from Low Content to Rant/Vent to MES Reading Group - and we have all kinds of great personalities and internecine battles!
Just imagine: forums that are never down and where you can quote for God's sake. What makes a forum is really its community but as we all know... really bad forum software is like a disease that continually ravages the community. So, come check out LibertyHQ forums for yourself and see the Utopia of a Misesean community in operation without the disease of godawful forum software!
Clayton -
Wow, Clayton, that sounds like a wonderful idea. I sure wish someone had told me about this blessing earlier!
Glad to help any way I can, Whey... you know I got your back.
Is this forum actually going to close though?
Does it really matter? it's down half the time... this is at least the third time they've threatened to shut it down (then didn't), they have spent the last 3 or 4 years listening to precisely ZERO feedback from the community itself, and so on. I've long since jumped ship over to LibertyHQ forums... I only visit here to respond to responses to my posts and to invite folks to come on over to LibertyHQ forums. We already have a thriving community over there, so there isn't really a "collective action problem" here anymore. Just come on over... the more, the merrier.
I try to minimize my posting on the Mises forums now. Only if there is something obviously up my alley like the Guilded Age do I post here. (Or, I guess, this thread).
Furthermore, I'm starting up work on the LHQ website, so we should be seeing some nice improvements (at least in the website). I will eventually port over all the current posts in the LHQ forums to a better forum over which I have better control.
Plus, isn't it nice to have the admin of the forum reply to you within a day? As opposed to the owners of Mises never being around any more (Tucker used to get on the forums!)

Death by a thousand cuts.

Relative to what? This is the least active time of year, seasonally... there's not a lot happening on this forum by my reckoning. And, you can help by signing up on LibertyHQ forums and contributing... it's free and easy ... we'll even send you a coupon for a free shoeshine.
we'll even send you a coupon for a free shoeshine.
haha. Sounds like a 1920's-ish euphemism for "spit on your shoes."
Not everything has to involve bodily fluids, Aristophanes. Sheesh.
I am required by law to tell you that we offer no such services.
Shhhhh, that doesn't matter, we're anarchists, remember?
Exactly. just lie. it is effective. just think if goodytooshoes up there didn't spill the beans with his legal mumbojumbo...you'd've suckered a few people into signing up. Then when they ask about the coupon say that they 'should have gotten it', then, when they inevitably say they didn't, say, "I'll put one in the mail, expect it." boom, brand new libertarian. hook line sinker - deceive, inveigle, and obfuscate.
*groan - your hyperventilated, neocon idiocy never ceases to astound in its self-stultification...
Today is the 2-month anniversary of the forum. We have 2700 posts!
