In your opinions and experiences, what are the best reads in which to devote time and money, or maybe to merely download for free?

not books but perhaps useful, though I'm guessing you've already seen it
I really liked Rollback by Woods.
"Modern Times" by Paul Johnson
Or anything by Thomas Sowell, specially "A conflict of visions", and perhaps the best cure for libertarian fanatism: "Knowledge and Decisions".
specially...libertarian fanatism...
One correctly spelled word out of three is not that bad.
My humble blog
It's easy to refute an argument if you first misrepresent it. William Keizer
Smiling Dave: specially...libertarian fanatism… One correctly spelled word out of three is not that bad.
specially...libertarian fanatism…
I believe the only misspelled word there is "fanaticism".
But still… I have to pay more attention since I make quite a few spelling and grammar mistakes in English when I don't use a proper text editor with spellcheck functionalities.
And I'm aware my sentences and lexical choices are somewhat foreign and cumbersome, but I think it would be a waste of time to try to write like a native speaker, since mastering foreign languages has never been my forte.
Of course that's a poor excuse for my lousy command of the English language and I'll try to write more properly in the future. I understand spelling mistakes can be very annoying, specially for american and french audiences. Both seem to be more hung up about that than other peoples, who usually are glad and appreciative when you make efforts to address them in their own languages, despite the mistakes.
Thanks for pointing that out anyway.
Sorry, didn't know English is not first language. Your English is excellent.
The correct spelling is "especially", which is not the same word as "specially".
