Stranger:
But the point is that I love my country. Don't you?

I've traveled a wee bit.  I like my country, but in many ways, it is inferior to others I have been to.  I don't feel I particularly owe it anything in the way of allegiance or loyalty.

I could learn to love a free country, regardless of the climate or geography.  Being free is more important to me than acknowledging my history and the history of my ancestors with a particular state.

@all, I second the Liberty Colony idea.  It's possible that an exodus may at one point be the only option left to us.  The world is certainly not getting less statist.  Things are moving in the wrong direction, and while choosing to stand and fight might be honourable, it's wise to pick the battles you can win.  If you can't beat the state, then change the game.  Plus the entrepreneurial opportunities for a Liberty Colony could be tremendous.

Because it's Africa. You want to live there? Be my guest.

Are you saying there is no place in Africa that could be a nice place to live? You need to get out more.

Remind me again, why should we? In any case Somalia isn't Anarcho Capitalist really it's run by warlords and as far I know a number of groups are all fighting for control of whatever government the UN wishes to create.

No, but there is no place in Africa that would be as nice a place to live as where I live now.

Not to mention radical militant Islam.

Actually if Somalia were politically stable investors would be moving there.

Some places you just do not move to unless invited and Somalia is one of them.  It is a clan based, they fight alot and are quite good at fighting and politicking in their own way.

I am sure a bunch of anarcho-capitalists just showing up would be viewed like a child eyes a pinata...figuring out just how and where to hit it so it dispenses with the most goodies.

Since most of the people I have met who advocate some kind of re-settling and homesteading have bank accounts slightly smaller than a church mouse, I am guessing that the Somalis would be dissapointed unless India started buying kidneys again.

By Somalis? You think they would notice?

I imagine they would be more than happy to work at the casinos, investment banks, private mints, marijuana farms etc...once the whole sea piracy and civil war starts to get old.

Perhaps Muhammed will cease to be the most popular name there and instead will be replaced by good capitalist names like Royce L. Charger, Duff Z. Penfeld and Addison A. Addison III.

Speaking of American Indians:

I would rather that Russel Means succeed at secession for his Lakotaland movement (or whatever they call it).  Moving to a newly independant South Dakota would be much better than moving to a place that still has polio and kidnapping is 40% of their GDP (like North Dakota  Somalia)

I'm guessing you've never been to North Dakota...

Interesting. Does anyone have a good link to explain the current political/econ situation there?
