Actually one can do both, though it may be not intuitive, and editing has a very short timer (about 5 minutes - probably to prevent people from changing their posts after replies - I guess it would make more sense to lock editing on replies, but hey, this engine is broken in more than one respect).
Re image: I guess the slogan needs a real English translation: "please forbid consenting adults from doing stuff".
