Definitely. Posters on Mises can come up with some real doozies. I usually end up emailing them to sympathetic friends and family; they're good enough to be shared

Wait, what? What happened? Why did he close his account? Most people who "move on" slowly decrease the frequency of their posts, not just unexpectedly disappear.
If I wrote it more than a few weeks ago, I probably hate it by now.
Indeed, it seems rather peculiar that LS would just disappear like that. Even though I lurk more than post, I can say that his contributions were some the most influential in directing towards the ancap philosophy. I don't think I'm alone in this regard, he will be missed.
Regarding the fact that Liberty Student's departure was not a "tapering off" affair, let me just say that LS is not a capricious fellow. He makes conscious, rational decisions, and then he follows through with them. He made this decision a while ago, and now he is following through with it (although I would note that I and others pleaded for him not to). But, you should all know, that before he left, he expressed optimism about the future of this Forum. LS's departure is a huge, painful loss to the Mises Community (especially for me, as I consider him one of my best friends), but he didn't want his leaving to be a big deal. So let's respect his wishes, and instead of getting too upset about it, let's follow the example of this month's MVPs (including LS himself) and continue the recent improvement in the level of discourse on this Forum in order to make it a true oasis of reason, civility, and learning, and a place Liberty Student would, someday in the future, want to come back to.

I certainly hope that LS does come back; he had some very insightful posts, and I am curious as to what drove him to leave. In my own case, mental illness flares up and causes me post less and less (or not at all) for a while, though the biggest change comes in the chat room, where I have been involved much more frequently than on the forums. There is one bright side: now that LS is gone, there is a niche that is left unfulfilled for us to battle over. May we be up to the challenge.
