So, your state is facing a budget crisis, what to do?

1. Cut egregious spending which has bankrupted the entire state

2. Make up inane laws of dubious economic benifit

State Assemblyman Michael DenDekker from Queens has introduced a bill requiring every bicycle in New York state to be registered annually with a license plate. Registration would initially include a $25 license plate fee — $5 for each year after that — and would involve bicycle inspections to ensure conformity to State requirements

You are telling me that the government, rather than "raising" just 1.8 million dollars a year can't find a way to cut spending for the same effect? Who elects these people?
