If he was, then so what? If there are, then so what?

I like how you snuck in "join the Progressive Family on FB" in there.

I didn't make it, I just thought it was interesting.  No clue what the Progressive Family on FB is.

I had always been impressed by the fact that there are a surprising number of individuals who never use their minds if they can avoid it, and an equal number who do use their minds, but in an amazingly stupid way. - Carl Jung, Man and His Symbols

I love how old bag Barbara just can't comprehend how you vote without voting Democrat or Republican.

Ventura disappoints when he gets into Citizens United though.  Yet another example, nobody's perfect.

RE: Diamond deposit

Eh, interesting but I'm skeptical.  Regardless, the diamonds produced from a meteor impact are going to be microscopic and will not really affect the world gem market.  Plus, they're making claims like "these diamonds are twice as hard!" which is pretty much just bullshit.

Ever get the comment "Not voting for Romney is a vote for Obama"?

I have. I remember seeing in the not too distant past (like a week or two ago) a study that shows that, as of the time of the study, voting for Johnson or not voting would actually push Romney ahead of Obama. I can't recall whether it was here somewhere, on I Bet [LvM]...'s facebook page or elsewhere, but I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me find it. Thanks!

John James:
So basically what you're saying, Old Guy, is you're voting for Obama.

Well, the way I've heard it, there are three possibilites:

1) A vote for anyone but Romney is a vote for Obama;

2) A vote for Romney is a vote for Obama, and;

3) A vote for Obama is a vote for Obama.

And then there's Schlichter's Thesis that if you don't vote for the Romney/Ryan ticket, you hate capitalism and hate the constitution.

I'm in quite the pickle.

It said much more than that but I guess you have to be old and tired like me to think any of it was important. But if youre ever in a scary place and your own security reconnoiters your compound for the enemy, and you get killed then all of us would be sad as well. God forbid such a thing should ever happen (again). ""uuhhh, we thought he was texting"" ""what?! Its not illegal to take pictures""

http://www.stripes.com/news/us/letter-from-doomed-soldier-helped-change-congressman-s-mind-on-afghan-withdrawal-date-1.190070

TAMPA — Sarah Sitton knew her husband Matt, an Army staff sergeant, was upset he and his men were forced to trudge through fields laden with improvised explosive devices. She knew he was so concerned he wrote a letter essentially predicting his own death to U.S. Rep. C.W. Bill Young, who attended the same Largo church as the Sittons. What surprised her was how much impact the letter would have. Young this week reversed his position on Afghanistan, a change of heart he says came in part because of Sitton's letter. In a position opposite that held by most leaders of his party, the influential Republican is now calling for U.S. troops to leave the country ahead of the 2014 deadline called for by President Barack Obama. He also has called a hearing for 10 a.m. Thursday to ask the agency in charge of protecting troops against IEDs to explain why so many are still dying and suffering horrific injuries despite an annual budget of nearly $3 billion. Sitton was killed Aug. 2 by an IED in the same field he had complained about in his letter. He was 26.

Regarding the Howard Stern Exposes Obama Supporters 2012 video, a few ignorant interviewees are not necessarily representative of Democratic voters. The Pew Research Center’s periodic News IQ quizzes are better samples of voter knowledge than a handful of people interviewed on the street.

Ludwig von Mises was a supporter of the (classical) liberal order of society, but he did not try to use science to prove that it was objectively just or good...
