This defines mainstream economics. Mainstream economists make their living advising the people in power how to manage the Boom, the Bust, and the Bailout.  This cartoon is the best illustration I've seen of the interventionist system.

NeophyteAustrian:

Le Master:

I just finished this. I taught myself a lot of Latin in the process:

i took two years of latin and most of those words are beyond what I learned. that is unbelievably cool. it looks like it was made three hundred years ago or something. i think it would look so awesome as a book cover. what is the significance of the setup of "Aristotle's Philosophic Building/Structure"?

It was custom long ago that students learning the teachings of Aristotle should investigate his theoretical philosophy at dawn, and his practical philosophy at night. Students studying in his philosophic building in this garden continue the tradition.

I've just got to say that this thread is legendary. So much fun. I wish I had some pictures to contribute but I sadly do not.

Ron Paul is for self-government when compared to the Constitution. He's an anarcho-capitalist. Proof.

What exactly does Darth Vader giving a downcast high-five to a graffiti wall of Stormtroopers have to do with politics.. or anything?

Praetyre: "What exactly does Darth Vader giving a downcast high-five to a graffiti wall of Stormtroopers have to do with politics.. or anything?"

It is not a graffiti wall.  It is a disgusting and disrespectful parody of this painting of the Vietnam Memorial, and is a show of disrespect to those who died in Vietnam and toward their families.  The Darth Vader angle is idiotic, immature, and offensive.  I was saddened to see it posted here.

I made these. Hey, did you know that there's no "a" in "opponent"? 'Cus, I forgot. There's actually a couple more mistakes amongst them, but it's 2am, I really don't wanna fix them right now.

Jeffersonianatheart, the Rand card is hilarious.

I had always been impressed by the fact that there are a surprising number of individuals who never use their minds if they can avoid it, and an equal number who do use their minds, but in an amazingly stupid way. - Carl Jung, Man and His Symbols

"The irony"... I know, Keynes should have let go.

I just picked up a bottle of this stuff at a local novelty soda shop. It has some funny lines on the label such as: "A taste worth standing in line for." "Drink Comrade! Drink! It's this or the Gulag!"

@Chloe

I had been making reference to how the comic artist drew Keynes as the 'old fashioned' economist; but now I'm tempted to make a de-motivation posted with your comment. Hmm. Regardless. Is it wrong I thought the engraving in this firearm beautiful until I noticed the 'copyright' label?

Keynes should have been the one that pushed him in the first place.

If you look carefully at the 2nd frame, there is no way for him to fall like that without being pushed.

Does any one have the LV Mises Hope poster? You know the one everyone used for Obama with all of the colors but instead it was Lu.
