  • Milton Friedman and his lectures

They say, that the era that Friedman visited Chile, gave lectures about capitalism and free market in Communist countries, as well. I wonder, how can a Communist goverment which propagandizes its citizens against Capitalism, give permission to someone to talk freely about Capitalism and Free Market?

  • Turning Socialists into Capitalists — Recommended method?

As a student, I often find myself arguing with socialists. I have organised many debates with socialists, and am holding conferences in Austrian economics. Doing everything I can with my knowledge, in order to persuade socialists to understand economics, capitalism and rights... I am still young however...

  • Occupy Philadelphia: The Kick That the Left Really Needed

“The kick that the left really needed “ are the words of one of the protesters. These are high hopes that will not be realized. Who are these Occupy Philly people? What do they stand for? Who do they represent? Let’s take a look. In the video below there are two interviews with participants...

  • Re: Get a whole of this debate???

@Anarcho : "Will someone who's productivity is many times greater then someone else's recieve the same salary as the much less productive person(s)?" Of course, why would a gold seeker would be paid more than a forester? Because gold is more expansive than wood you think? And what about...

  • Re: Any good articles showing how the U.S. really is socialist or close to it? A friend doubts this.

When considering capitalist and communist ideology which seem to be either end of the political and economics spectrum and trying to assess which one is "better", i dont think people really consider the important issue of population. In an area of land where there is very few people (im thinking...

  • Subsidy- Solar- Cell Phones

Their subsidization of solar panel production is, believe it or not, has little or no impact on the pace of solar energy research and development. If they subsidized the production of cell phones, new faster, smaller, more reliable cell phones would still be coming out every year. The only difference...

  • Re: Why communism will work, and capitalism won’t.

[quote user="ChroMattic"] Laborers add value to a product, but they aren't the determining factor that determines its value. In your attack against "capitalist exploitation" you gave the statistic to the effect of chinese workers get the equivalent of 1.50 an hour for shoes that...

  • The fallacies of intellectual communism, a compilation

Author's note: I am compiling in this thread a list of all the fallacies invoked against intellectual property rights. I would greatly appreciate if one of the authoritative members of forum involved in the Mises Institute were to promote this to a full Mises.org story, thus confirming the institute's...
