  • Occupy Philadelphia: The Kick That the Left Really Needed

“The kick that the left really needed “ are the words of one of the protesters. These are high hopes that will not be realized. Who are these Occupy Philly people? What do they stand for? Who do they represent? Let’s take a look. In the video below there are two interviews with participants...

  • More understanding, less mystery: milkers get it

When I asked an attorney about constitutional issues regarding the illegal status of raw milk in Iowa, he said that the statutory barriers are economic, so naturally I thought folks here might be interested in the story. On Thursday I sent out a news article announcing "Milkers Get It", a concept...

  • Mexico buys corn futures to ensure tortilla prices remain flat Will this work? Perhaps I am mistaken, but I thought that such speculation could at best only temporarily influence prices... That such speculation generally worked to make prices more quickly...

  • Re: foreigners hope to reap a bounty in Africa

Here is another article about the Saudi production of wheat. They are phasing out local production of wheat by 2016 because they were depleting their own fossil water resources.

  • foreigners hope to reap a bounty in Africa

Check this article of the LA Times . They claim that Africa will be plundered by foreign investors who want to buy land, invest in irrigation and transfer technology. I consider at least risky, or even plain stupid, to invest in a country where exports can be blocked at anytime and the cries for nationalization...

  • The Bread Crisis in Cairo

My apologies if this has been posted onsite elsewhere, I looked, and didn't see anything. I found this article to be very interesting. Bread riots? In a supposedly modern Arab country? Amazing. Wow, and government interference hasn't solved...
