  • Have you heard of the recent internet censorship bill: S.3804?

Hello, I've been reading articles on the Mises website for a while now. this is the first time I'm posting anything here. a recent bill has been introduced and is being pushed by the entertainment industry. I don't see a lot of buzz on the media (though I admit, I don't really look )...

  • Best Books on United States History

It seems like they didn't teach us anything about real United States history in school. My teachers were always terribly boring and made us memorize the acronyms of the New Deal programs. I've had to teach myself everything I know about our history, but I always have to learn randomly - and by...

  • "Private option" for government?

I know Ron Paul has mentioned support of this sort of proposal before, but I wasn't really able to find much else on this idea. Has there been any thought given to promotion of a "Private option" for government? That is, people voluntarily giving up their "protections" like police...

  • Re: What would you do with the EU?

Secession is the only real hope. Maintain the free trade and common labor market, but get rid of the Euro and leave the political sphere. Losing your sovereignty to a national government is bad, but getting it lost to a multi-national government is even worse.

  • Nominee for Supreme Court Justice

I have not followed this forum long enough to know if the nomination of a supreme court justice merits special attention or if it is just another subject. I am curious about the community's reaction, if any, to the nomination process and the nominee. Judge Sonia Sotomayor is being touted as someone...

  • Re: Microsecession as a strategy and the prospects for a new Hanseatic League

As you will find on the here mentionned links, the Hanseatic League's spirit has already been re-started in the city of Zwolle in the Netherlands, in 1980. You will find it at www.hanse.org The actual president is the Mayor of the city of Luebeck in Germany. Since 1980, you have in summer, Hanseatic...

  • Ten FALSE Patriot Myths Regarding Paper Money v. Gold Part 3

What Mr. WhoRU wrote that Mr. Vieira purports to comment on: [1] I have fairly well addressed this myth above but I hear this claim quite often and I challenge anyone who makes this claim to set forth a detailed explanation of the means whereby the Fed has any ability to cause Federal Reserve Notes to...
