• Taxing and Spending Creates Wealth, according to John E. Schwarz

This is ridiculous. The love for socialism will never die. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/08/28/AR2008082802851.html

  • "High taxes keep a wealthy community wealthy"?

At my place of employment, my boss and I work side by side, and we often pass the day by talking politics and economics. He is a pretty conservative guy (primarily on social issues), but he also has a generally anti-tax/anti-government philosophy (though more subdued). He supported Huckabee during the...

  • Voting with our pocketbooks

As an economist I've often thought of how we can express our wishes as a republic in such a way as for them not to be watered down by the time they get to the top as is the case with our current political system of primaries and delegates and super-delegates and state conventions and national conventions...

  • Re: How much profit is too much profit?
There is something as too much profit: any profit derived from state privilege, or through coercive means in general.
Would this still be profit meaning surplus value from exchanges?
I'm usually sympathetic to socialist claimst made...

  • Re: Voucher Systems in Education?

I am more for tuition tax credits. It is less egalitarian and more pro freedom. It reduces ones tax burden, without giving "free money" to a person who doesn't have it. This may have been discussed already, sorry if I am repeating things.

  • SLAVERY

Writing in 2008, it is easy to find people who are absolutely opposed to slavery, but I have not had such luck finding people who are opposed to 50% slavery, or 35% slavery, or even 10% slavery. The concept of slavery is that man “A” works, and the fruits of his labor are taken against his will by man...

  • Re: What is the most economic system of taxation?

Very interesting, though I'm sure it would be panned for it's impracticality or utopian idealism in this limited form. What more have you written along these lines? I am intensely interested, because I went down a rabbit hole with an anarcho-syndicalist-?? fellow I am friends with this morning...

  • Re: 16th amendment

I would be happy to explain some of the main arguments that were used to fight the government on the income tax issue. However, I recommend that these be used to educate yourself rather than the fight the government, as I realized that since they own the courts (which are totally corrupt), we could never...

  • Re: 16th amendment
I'm curious to know what people think about the constitutionality of the 16th amendment. There have been a lot of arguments put forth by people like Bill Benson as to how the 16th amendment was never properly ratified. On the other hand, no court has ever upheld any...
