The Dow Jones up 244.84 points, The US dollar looses against the Euro & Pound again, Insurgent and suicide attacks still remain a constant burden on US forces, Home foreclosures remain in the millions nationwide, and both Bank of America merged with Citigroup are in the talks of being of Nationalized...

  • Re: Anarchist Riot in Greece

Well, its "make the best of a bad situation." Even if the police did protect us, there would still be an issue of taxation. but agreed. So long as they do take our money as taxes, they ought to at least uphold their obligation they claim to have, to protect life, liberty, and property. That...

  • Libertarians For Obama

Here is a direct quote from the article on page 46, from the most recent "The Economist" magazine. "The biggest brigade in the Obamacon army consists of libertarians, furious with Mr Bush's big-government conservativism, worried about his commitment to an open-ened 'war on terror'...

  • Re: Weapons of Mass Destruction and the anarcho-capitalist society

No, but we do have to look to historical evidence for wild claims about imminent nucleur warfare or the like. It is * possible * that a maniac is waiting outside my house, right now, to blow me up. Unlikely, but possible. However, I don't spend my time worrying about it because there is no evidence...

  • Re: Weapons of Mass Destruction and the anarcho-capitalist society

No country with a nuclear weapon has ever been invaded. The only 'countries' to ever use them have been those with massive governments inlcuding those supposedly 'civilised' (democratic!) ones, which just shows how completely brainwashed people are into thinking governments actually protect...

  • Natural economic order

First of all, I would like to introduce myself. I am a computer programmer from the Netherlands. I am working on a theory of money and banking derived from the "Natural Economic Order" of Silvio Gesell. "Natural Economic Order" clearly states that the root the economic and monetary...

  • The case against preemption

So someone sent me this, and I answered. Tell me if you think my answer does it. ---- Turns out my pastor is in favor of preemptive war. I'd like your advice on how best to respond to his reasoning. He wrote the following on his blog: << Preemption was not necessary before the modern era. A...

  • Iran War Resolution

I've long been convinced that the real threat Iraq and Iran pose is to the hegemony of the dollar. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iranian_Oil_Bourse Now read this, but skip all the 'whereas'es and read what it specifically calls for: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=hc110...

  • Re: Hermann Goering on Anthropogenic Global Warming

The interesting conversation is about why people want anthropogenic global warming to be true.
I don't think it has to do with tribal instincts at all. I think this whole global warming thing is just the latest embodiment...

  • Re: Stopping dictators

We have covered this, but it keeps going round in circles within this topic. I already agreed that of course, you can defend yourself. I'm not sure I see what point you're trying to make? Self-defence is not 'violence'. The initiation of force is violent. Protecting yourself or your child...
