U.S. Treasury Seeks Help in Mending Economy -- But Whose Economy? By Steve Peacock, U.S. Trade & Aid Monitor As congressional and White House budget battles rage on along the littered landscape of national financial woes, the U.S. Dept. of the Treasury this week reached to the private sector for...

  • A Socio-biological perspective on politics and classical libertarian thought.

Hey everyone, so this is my first post. i've written my ideas in essay form because other people are likely to read it and i don't like changing the introduction around. hope you enjoy and try at answering my questions. although i think the likely hood is that you will disagree with at least...

    http://www.professorbainbridge.com/professorbainbridgecom/2010/02/sullivan-and-reynolds-applaud-paul-victoryme-not-so-much.html This was posted on lewrockwell.com as a blog post ( http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/51252.html ). • Libertarians For Obama

Here is a direct quote from the article on page 46, from the most recent "The Economist" magazine. "The biggest brigade in the Obamacon army consists of libertarians, furious with Mr Bush's big-government conservativism, worried about his commitment to an open-ened 'war on terror'...

  • Re: Weapons of Mass Destruction and the anarcho-capitalist society

No, but we do have to look to historical evidence for wild claims about imminent nucleur warfare or the like. • Re: Weapons of Mass Destruction and the anarcho-capitalist society

No country with a nuclear weapon has ever been invaded. The only 'countries' to ever use them have been those with massive governments inlcuding those supposedly 'civilised' (democratic!) ones, which just shows how completely brainwashed people are into thinking governments actually protect...

  • Re: Stopping dictators

I sort of find myself mostly agreeing with JonBostwick here after reading through this thread. Nothing can ever justify dropping a nuclear weapon no matter how dire the situation. I don't think people really understand the implications of what their saying when they defend things like that. I think...

  • Utter Global Colapse?

Found this during my morning internet rounds... (from: http://survivalacres.com/wordpress/?p=1211 ) January 11, 2008 Legendary Funds Manager Julian Robertson Predicts Utter Global Collapse Stemming From Bursting of Property Bubble In a recent interview on CNBC with Ron Insana, one of the “old-timer”funds...

  • War and the Economy

Okay, I'm a staunch believer in the idea that warfare is always destructive to the economy, and should thusly only be undertaken with extremely careful scrutiny and even then only as an act of self-defense. I was in a debate about the recent (supposed) threats that five Iranian PT boats were placing...
