• Re: Is a crack-up boom possible in the United States?

Working in I.T I am able to diversify my contracts and be paid in a number of currencies. When the dollar goes down against the pound I do better as I cash in my pounds. When the pound isn't doing so well I leave it in the bank (or move it into a high interest account in England) and let it accumulate and make sure I do some work in $ as well. Generally
We know the agenda of the left is to take existing instutions and expand them. Expand the role of the IRS, expand the EPA, DOE, the military, welfare, SEC, United Nations, the role of the Federal Reserve-and on and on and on.
I think it is worth pointing out though, that the Left is by no means a homogenous

  • Re: Webster Tarpley: Ban Derivatives?
Von Hayek got his chance under the reactionary old battle axe Margaret Thatcher, who brought back rickets, scurvy and pellagra for British working people.
This is something I have often heard from the left i.e. Hayek is to blame for Thatchers actions etc. This is of course totally idiotic. If anyone takes

  • Re: Suffolk University

I live in between Suffolk and MIT. Nice buildings and a nice stting to be learning in. The major campus is in the center of Boston next to beacon Hill (some good resturants and pubs round there as well ;) ). It seems to be a good University and you aren't far from Harvard and MIT over the river in Cambridge.

  • Re: Does technology drive economic growth?

Hi there, Just came across this site online (I saw this discussion topic so decided to sign up). This is an interesting disucssion. As somebody who works in the I.T sector I've seen plenty of capital pushed into technology that has been an utter flop and done nothing to further the economy. Also having capital in order to have the time to develop
