The family of these people have a right to sue because of a wrongful death. As far as my own beliefs go, I think that should be enough to have a legitimate lawsuit, and it may include things such as lost earnings. I don't know what would happen in a private law society, but I doubt that lost earnings would be a separate tort.

No no, you've got it all wrong. The common burglar has to break into your house. You invite the IRS into your house, after they threaten you with an audit. Quite civilized, I say.

ECONOMICS QUESTION: What is PrimeTime's opportunity cost for his anti-Wheylous posts? Show your work and you get brownies points. Krugman points for anyone who can explain in terms of cardinal utility.

That could happen, as well as a tense cop firing the first shot, or whatever. I don't know if you remember when this cop completely overreacted to this situation and punched a woman in the face . Now what happens if you get a cop like that but he pulls a trigger instead of just punching someone? You have every right to walk down a dark alley by

lol ok bud. EDIT: You will notice that I talked about prudence in my post, not about a definite cause and effect relationship. Feel free to ignore that word and interpret what I said however you want.

No, I'm pretty sure that the burden of proof is on you to establish a cause and effect relationship between the two events before I have to try and disprove anything.
