  • Ron Paul interview on Smiley & West show

No time to check if this has already been posted. RP is excellent at finding common ground with progressives here . A constant reminder that one catches more flies with honey. [Hat tip to economicpolicyjournal.com for the link.]

It is much more realistic/likely that 9 out of 10 people would voluntarily pay the doctor, even without the obligation to do so, than that they would not. Moreover, praxeologically, the doctor would gain

You already compensated the owner of the materials for your computer by buying them from him. The system by which everyone (a hive mind) owns everything and where anyone using anything could only "rent" it from "everyone" with "their" consent is called communism. The amount of atoms being rearranged is irrelevant.

  • Re: The Economics Of Bitcoin – Challenging Mises’ Regression Theorem

I just had an idea about reconciling Bitcoin with the Regression Theorem. Imagine invisible envelopes (of various sizes) were invented which allowed you to discreetly ship gold or USD between any two points in the world. You'd "pack" $100 in a "$100 size envelope" or 10oz of gold in a "10oz envelope", enter the destination

  • Re: The free rider "problem"?

Prime, how does him being there take money out of your kids' college fund? You're paying $200/month for your insurance/defense contract now and you'd be paying the same if he wasn't there, too. How does your neighbor's existence make anything more expensive for you?

  • Re: The free rider "problem"?

[quote user="Prime"] The problem is that the paying customer is subsidizing the unpaying customer. If a defense firm has $1000 in fixed expenses, it is desirable to have that divided up between as many paying customers as possible. The more customers, the cheaper it is per customer, obviously. As a paying customer, how can I force that leach
