  • Re: Moon To Have No-Fly Zones - No Joke

But that doesn't address my issues: Lack of testing and apparent lack of similar care to precision and fail-safety in the design of the Lunar Module versus similar Earth rocketry (regardless of scale). Can't really say "regardless of scale" where rocketry is concerned. You do realize that Eagle was LM-5. Spider (LM-3) and Snoopy (LM

Escape velocity on Earth is 11.2 km/s. Escape velocity on the Moon is 2.4 km/s. The speed of sound is .343 km/s. A launch vehicle built to the 11.2 km/s escape velocity would have to withstand over 32 g's of force. This is way over the top for rocket designs. To solve this problem you need a longer burn, which means a much larger rocket to carry

  • Re: Ron Paul Wins Post Debate Poll (Again, and again and again)

Powers that be want Romney for president. Democrats and their media co-conspirators would like Huntsman. This being the first "Tea Party" presidential election, there's a twist to the current Republican nomination script. We're apt to see Palin step in. That would make 3 "Tea Party" candidates (Palin, Perry and Bachmann)

  • Re: PIG

Play the middle ground between the Liberals and Conservatives. If you must participate in goverment, then you are the thug for without the entire government would cease to function. Liberals could not succeed in their social policies without you. Conservatives would not have a military to fight wars or police power to enforce their morals. You represent

  • Re: Floating libertarian island funded

While there is no guarantee a libertarian island will suceed, nothing in this world is guaranteed, if this does it may at least puts this utopian nonsense to rest. Too few details to ascertain just how "libertarian" the place will be let alone whether or not it is indeed An-Cap. It's more likely that these "sovereign nations"

  • Re: Did Bachmann Buy 4000 Votes for Ames Event (straw poll)?

Think the claim is bogus. Any real proof? The real news in the straw poll was that the libertarian position dominated. Bachmann, the clearest tea party candidate, won with 28% of the votes. Ron Paul came in a very close 2nd with 27% of the vote. That's 55% percent combined. I think in terms of economics and fiscal policy, the majority of Americans

  • Re: What is the value of Gold when not used as a medium of exchange?

if the goods that you were buying for $1,000 became $2,000, why wouldn't the cost of your employer to "buy" your employment go up by the same amount? Is it just a matter of time lag? I understand your points about inflation being a punishment on savings and causing individuals to make artificial decisions about spending immediately and

  • Re: Productive vs. Unproductive labor?

Difficulties in marketing for free - yes. Unproductive labor - not necessarily. I also wouldn't underestimate the demand for gently used clothing, especially in this economy. Retail is cut-throat as it is. The store would be competing against consignment stores and thrift stores. Pricing in this area is key, as is quality. Shoppers in this particular

  • Re: TV show "Breaking Bad" and Ron Paul

That too, although Gus seemed to be a little more understanding on that point (at least on the surface). It's interesting in how the show is dealing with the character's reaction to committing acts of violence. Their first situation was painful, not to mention a total mess. The death of the two drug dealers was more matter of fact. The killing
