  • Re: Is cutting government deficit necessary economically?

Nothing is "necessary" "economically". Can you refine your question? What are you really asking?

  • Re: Human Action Comics by Lilburne

Grayson, This is going to take some time to read through, but I think you can expect rave reviews as usual. It's good to know that Murphy's book is available in the Literature section (for convenience, it's linked below.) As always, thanks for your effort on these. Lessons for the Young Economist

  • Re: Using the Austrian business cycle theory in bachelor thesis, help!

Esuric, Once again, a superb post. Your ability to organize these concepts and express them clearly is second to none. Would you add the cluster of entrepreneurial error to your list? All home builders, all supporting industries, across all regions of the U.S., and really across the western world, experienced the boom / bust simultaneously. This is

btw, I made this thread 3 years ago. - Nielsio Opps. Saw the recent replies and went from there, didn't notice the original date...

  • Re: Religious anarchists; please explain

Nielsio, Because if that is the case then I think we have a problem on our hands, because the purpose of knowledge is to understand, describe, explain and predict reality, which religious speak - as facts - do not do. I don't mean any hostility here, I am not defensive. I have tremendous respect for you and what you've done on your website.

StrangeLoop, I read the article. It is not "great" as the blogger (with a masters degree in public policy, no self interest there right?) states. It is obviously biased against Hayek and Bastiat. It makes a parody of their ideas. The 2nd sentence of the blog post is off base and is just as biased and misleading as the New York Times article

[quote user="Fred Furash"] I thought I had read a similar thread recently. A little googling turned up this http://mises.org/Community/forums/t/19654.aspx Seriously, stop posting the same stuff over and over again if you don't bother having actual arguments. You get responses from people, and then you ignore them and let your own threads

  • Re: Google's New Car and the Collapse of Capitalism

auctionguy10, Ravochol is saying that we can have the best of what the free market has to offer along with socialist planning (he calls it redistribution of productivity gains) at the same time. Entrepreneurs and capitalists will direct capital into new, exiting, and productive activities even though the resulting productivity gains will be confiscated

  • Re: Google's New Car and the Collapse of Capitalism

Yawn. The forum has been inundated lately with posts about this resource based economics, Venus project, nonsense. Numerous forum members have already addressed the fallacies, the errors in economic thinking, on this subject. Are we really going to go round this merry go round again? Ravochol, Food for thought. It is October, 1945. Millions of GI's

  • Re: Brilliant Refutation of Moronic Economic Thinking

We could argue with Ravochol about the economics of placing homeless people in empty condos in Florida, but I don't think it will be a productive exercise. Using myself as an example, a person has to want to learn about something before anything can be learned. First I had to realize what intervention was all about, then I had to conclude it was
