• Re: What Bitcoin is

You are way too defensive. Bitcoin provides value for me. I just don't see anything special or unique about what was shown before.

  • Re: What Bitcoin is

For now I am convinced that bitcoin system is basically only new payment system like paypal. Bitcoin unit is needed to participate in this new payment system - it is useless outside of that.
However, the "no starting value" argument died for me the day I realized that sending money home from Japan would be way cheaper and faster if I used Bitcoin.
In the days before Bitcoin system I could send money faster an cheaper almost anywhere in the world by using my credit card or checking account as

  • Re: Is US average income really down between 47 and 64% since 1928?

Measures like this do not measure wealth. It doesn't matter how much money you make. What matters is what can you buy for it and whether what you can buy for it satisfies your wants more than in the past. I could argue that although people make less money they can have their needs satisfied better today. Amount of money you make is meaningless by
But of course the good-hearted governments of the world would have done this! Right?
Government is THE PEOPLE so he did not do it. Government did.
