• Re: Wikileaks
For years I co-ran an ebay business w my father. We used the post office everyday to send packages. We never had a problem, not once. You guys are wrong about the post office.
You ought to know proof by assertion doesn't do much in the way of convincing anyone of anything on this site, especially when it flies in the face of reality

  • Re: For minarchist who still believed in JFK

To be fair, it is pretty much common knowledge that JFK cheated on his wife regularly, that his books were ghostwritten and that he had a relationship with Max Jacobson, although I wasn't aware of the extent to which it went. Despite the shoddy layout I wouldn't put it past him and his family to be involved with such dealings.

  • Re: Some help with a speech I'm writing

Addiction would be easier to handle, access to safe materials would be much easier (sharing of needles, incidental injection of dangerous materials, figuring out quality of drugs you are buying as crappy drug dealers get forced out of business by higher quality competitors), access to medical assistance in event of problems would be much easier, people

  • Re: How should I respond?

His "example" is a bizzare application of the parable of the broken window; all of those "advantages" to the public professions comes at a net cost to the business. If given the choice between $100 and 0, I venture that most people would choose the former. Moreover, it is extremely doubtful that 100% of your tax reciepts are going

  • Re: "free rider"

I think you are looking at it the wrong way. The free rider problem is part and parcel of public goods theory, it doesn't have anything to do with "fairness" in a voluntary exchange (where it seems to be fair enough to begin with given the exchange is by definition voluntary). See: and http

  • Re: This damn professor...
My professor wrote a note next to the statement: "I would have died due to Libertarianism."
I would have trolled him for presenting a false dichomity and then pointed out that statism has killed millions of people.
However the most irritating part was that he attached an article called Why Libertarianism is not my favourite political system by Eric Hoffer (I think that was the author). I am really interested in your opinions on it, so here is the link:
Summerization of why libertarianism is bad

  • Re: Any good articles showing how the U.S. really is socialist or close to it? A friend doubts this. All government spending is socialism, so I would just point out the public schools, welfare, public infastructure, government owns over 99 percent of hospitals, government ownership over energy, government-backed monopolies, the great society, subsidization of business
