  • "Gross Domestic Revenue" Data

Does anyone know of a place where I can download historical data of George Reisman's Gross Domestic Revenue ? I e-mailed Reisman's Jefferson School located at http://www.capitalism.net/ To whom it may concern, I would like to be added to your mailing list. Is there a place that I can download Gross Domestic Revenue (GDR) data? Thanks, Gary Danelishen

I am reading Caplan's "The Myth of the Rational Voter". I am interested in hearing what other people here have to say about Bryan Caplan. Thanks!

  • Re: The minimum wage

In a libertarian society, people (workers) should have the right to organize by forming a voluntary association. This is free-market. They should not, however, be compelled by the government to organize as is the case of states not having right-to-work laws (union shops). It is inconsistent with liberty and private property to disallow companies, backed

  • Re: The minimum wage

Capital (machines and equipment) and labor are in competition with each other. By raising the cost of unskilled labor, companies have an incentive to substitute machines. (Pay at the pump, self-checkout at stores) This results in a permanent loss of jobs for unskilled labor. The minimum wage affects the inner cities and poor rural areas the most negatively

  • Microsoft, Network Externality, Government Buying Power

Without addressing the issue of Intellectual Property (IP), My question is whether Microsoft's significant market share, which many refer to as a monopoly , is an indirect result of the size of government? The Federal Government is the largest employer in the country. This requires alot of computers running Microsoft software. In addition to civil

  • Empirical Studies of "Cantillon Effects"

I am a college student researching the Austrian Business Cycle Theory (ABCT). I would like to include evidence of Cantillon Effects in economic data. Prof. Garrison wrote a piece on the Dot Com boom. There is also published work on what is called the "Skyscraper index". But there seems to be a lack of in depth studies on this topic. At least

  • Calculating the "Natural Rate of Interest"

I am working on a college project to study the Austrian Business Cycle Theory. I would like to find a good way to estimate the "Natural Rate of Interest" - the rate of interest that the market would have produced based solely on consumers' time preference. An attempt at determining such a figure was "the 3-month lagged difference

  • Re: Downloadable AMS (Austrian Money Supply) numbers?

Within the Austrian School there is a methodological aversion to the empirical testing of economic theory favoring instead for "a priori" reasoning. Mathematical models are also eschewed. Would it further the cause of the Mises Institute, however, to publish some data such as Austrian Money Supply Numbers?

Thanks for the FED series names you use (currns, dddfcbns, dddfoins, usgdcb, and demdepns.) I was not, however, able to find the AMS numbers off of http://www.dhlingerfelt.com. Under which link should I look? Thanks!
