• Re: Jesus and the Moneychangers

"Jesus apparently drove the moneychangers from the temple because they were lending out the money deposited with them and getting interest from the loans." Jewish law did not allow offerings to be made using coins bearing a graven image. The moneychangers literally changed Roman money into acceptable local coins that could be taken inside

  • Re: Floatilla vs. Star of The West

" Israel is blockading goods moving to Gaza through Israeli territory. " No. Gaza has a coastline. The blockade is preventing goods from being imported by sea. Israeli territory is not involved at all.

Then at the end some historian says, "Oh well, that was just Stalin being Stalin and he made Russia a superpower so it was all worth it." That's pretty much official Russian history now under Putin.

  • Re: Did FDR Force Japan to Bomb Us By Cutting Off Their Oil Supply?

"Could Japan simply have gotten their oil from another supplier? Did they really need to bomb us?" At the time their oil came mostly from the Philippines, which was a US colony. After the Spanish-American war Teddy Roosevelt's detractors predicted that the continued US possession of the Philippines would eventually cause a war with Japan

  • Re: Jericho tv series and homesteading
When you homestead land, you don't own it. You only own the rights to continue homesteading it uninterrupted
I have to agree with the others that this doesn't make sense. I think in trying to define homesteading you are focusing too much on the meaning of the word "own" when you should be focusing
